  1. Hi, Excited! From Rapido Newsletter #104: Allowing for RoS getting their pre-orders the Chrimbo self-prezzies should be sorted then Regards, Gerry.
  2. Hi, Could well be related to this?: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/137434-Heljan-pricing-15-discount-rule/ Presumably it'll affect other suppliers. Regards, Gerry.
  3. Hi, Plenty here to interest me I'm confident Ben and Mike will already have considered this when deciding to so mightily " increase the ambition and scale of our operations" so I do hope that there will be reasonable gaps when it comes to requesting funds* for each project that meets the 'numbers required' criteria, I'd hate to register an interest and then find payments are squeezed into a limited window. Although the VEA van is non-crowdfunded they're still going to significantly deplete the modest fortune at my disposal when available so hope their release is taken into account in that respect... Already started a new savings regime in anticipation. Regards, Gerry. *Mentioned in Ben's 'Leamington Reflections' post on the website
  4. Hi, Another year and another TINGS, Ben and Mike are sure to be busy with the news that they are to announce 5 new models and reruns "Everything we are offering this weekend is N". http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=42493.0 Regards, Gerry.
  5. Hi Dave, I may have missed it but your 'no frills' post doesn't mention either way the raised nose option for N (I didn't need those mentioned), is the superb looking CAD image(s) relevant to both scales or has it been 'de-frilled' from the N version? Regards, Gerry.
  6. Hi, There may be internal component constraints that limit what could be done, I doubt that a better external design would have cost more otherwise. Let's see what they look like when we have better images. Regards, Gerry.
  7. Hi, Nope, the Dapol is the earlier curvaceous ends. Maybe it'll spark Dapol into upsizing theirs... Regards, Gerry.
  8. Hi, From the Dapol Digest https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/n-gauge-models/diesel/class-73/1109-any-chance-of-73-9s I'm not sure how the word 'recitative' applies, maybe Joel's autocorrect decided the word 'attractive' was too vanilla Regards, Gerry.
  9. Hi, First impression is of blocky appearance, perhaps due to poor image quality. I'll look forward to NGS Journal/ monthly mags reviews, hopefully with better pictures. If I can get to the Warley show this year I'll certainly want to stop off at their stand to see for myself. Inevitable comparison with CR Signals would, for now, leave me sourcing from the established supplier but I'm not in a rush just yet. Regards, Gerry.
  10. Hi, I'm not aware of any significant problem with the N Brighton Belle, reading instructions for many can still be a last resort... The simple answer to the Arnold/Hornby N Brighton Belle packaging was that it was sold as the 5-car pack in the UK - Model Rail quoted SK "...nothing to do with Margate", you could buy the separate packs in Europe, DM-Toys had remaining stocks of the driving cars for quite a while. Regards, Gerry.
  11. Hi, Just received email so I've paid deposits for the two originally chosen. Two follow-up emails then received, confirmation of creating account and then order receipt. All very quick and straightforward, thanks Dave. Regards, Gerry.
  12. Hi, When Mike was speculating on reruns early last year he did mention opening "expressions of interest", I took that to mean alternative liveries and their reaching sufficient levels as originally. I doubt RevolutioN would suddenly commit to numbers without the usual prudent process. They've been incredibly busy with completing projects and initiating new ones so it's unsurprising that they haven't revisited the N TEAs - just yet... Regards, Gerry.
  13. Hi, I see Gaugemaster have pre-production livery samples now: http://www.gaugemaster.com/news/Sneak-Peek-of-Gaugemaster-Collection-Class-66s and inviting comment on these, still due for release November 2018. Additional - larger low-res images also on the Dapol Digest: https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/n-gauge-models/diesel/class-66/7248-gaugemaster-announce-limited-edition-Dapol-class-66s Regards, Gerry.
  14. Hi, I continue trying to work on my N gauge layout and this topic reminded me of having seen the SMALL SCALE, BIG SOUND article in Model Rail 168/Spring 2012, the notion of adding this form of sound more than the other aspects of DCC to the layout appealed given my perceived limitations in the on-board quality of sound in the scale even with more recent improved products, the space available just doesn't allow the sound I hope for. I had a look at the website which includes the description and a video, then emailed a couple of queries to Paul Lawton who very kindly responded in timely fashion with reassurances regarding those uncertainties. I've only run a small test track with a single loco at a time, further testing will continue when I am able. Regards, Gerry.
  15. Hi, My B tanks arrived today, first part payment in December '16 - can't think why I didn't pay in full then - followed up with an additional order October '17, again part paid. email request for balance received last week. Very happy. Must remember to keep the Sturgeon discount code handy... Regards, Gerry.
  16. Hi again, Andy Y's follow-up post on the Dapol section: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/136651-false-Dapol-factory-rumour-from-retailer/?p=3268976 Regards, Gerry.
  17. Hi, I note Andy Y had already locked a topic, pending clarification, on the Dapol section well before Talltim posted: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/136651-Dapol-factory-closure-troubles/ Regards, Gerry.
  18. Hi, Also quashing any danger of unhelpful 'speculation' about their products, fair enough for that alone I think. Regards, Gerry.
  19. Hi, Latest DT video linked from the new newsletter 103: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbvq_tIr19E Regards, Gerry.
  20. Hi, L92 joins L94 chez s-d b yesterday: Regards, Gerry.

Regards, Gerry.
