  1. Hi, Dapol have added a list of proposed models lower down the page MGR Hooper! linked to in post #151. There are sound fitted models and unrefurbished listed, on the subject of NSE liveries Joel posted a reply to that on the Dapol Digest: Regards, Gerry.
  2. Hi, According to acko22 (PROJECT RAILWAY HONOUR) posted (#238) by Gareth on the N Gauge Forum http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=36933.msg467222;topicseen#msg467222 : We'll have to await website updates, but rather exciting news. Regards, Gerry.
  3. Hi again, Yup, exactly the same link as I posted. Yup, I avidly follow the newsletters so I was fully aware of the relationship. Until I saw the banner ad I hadn't seen a specific order page on the RoS website so I was happy to be able to use the link. Which is why I used the term 'ballpark', I've been ordering from various countries for a number of years - including a couple of the GMD-1s directly from RT. I specifically wanted to avoid giving the impression the Rapido Trains USD pricing was an absolute, but rather a starting point. Regards, Gerry.
  4. Hi, The TurboTrain prices in USD have been up on the Rapido Trains website for a while now, so I had a 'ballpark' starting point: https://rapidotrains.com/n-turbo-us/ I had been just about to order direct anyway when I noticed the RoS banner ad on here. Regards, Gerry.
  5. Hi, Pre-ordered a CN TurboTrain and 4-car add-on from your website on Monday - now the dedicated saving begins... Regards, Gerry.
  6. Hi, I may well be a steam-driven boy, but I passed the 'not a robot' test... Regards, Gerry.
  7. Hi, Interesting feedback from Joel on the Dapol Digest today https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/n-gauge-models/diesel/class-50-n/project-managers-blog-al/309-n-gauge-class-50-development/page3 My Bold I can understand a manufacturer in the recent and continuing financial uncertainties deferring items that they see from stockist interest may be poor sellers, I did pre-order when the opportunity presented itself but maybe the situation with other potential buyers is that they only want to wait for particular numbers/liveries at some future point? How is a manufacturer going to be able to confidently commit the funds in that situation? Why would any other N manufacturer have confidence seeing this and probably facing the same conundrum? Surely the WCML/WR/NSE (not an insignificant portion of the rail network) modellers for the period when these operated need a modern standards, conventionally priced, model. There seems to have been plenty of interest in the preserved examples on railtours and open days - my Model Rail September '17 issue delivered today suggests five expected at the Old Oak Common 111 event on September 2nd. Regards, Gerry.
  8. Hi, I hadn't been able to find the order page or links even though I had visited them before - thinking my usual "I'm looking at it but can't see it" I Googled and amongst the possibles found: http://www.revolutiontrains.com/projects/cargowaggon-twins-iza/ Order placed this morning, although I had to go back because I'd forgotten the Perrier... Regards, Gerry.
  9. Hi, KH6 on day 1, KE2 added yesterday so maxed-out now Regards, Gerry.
  10. Hi, Arrived today, running in on rolling road - usual dodgy snappery... This had better be my last 66, somehow total now at 26 inc. 4 dummy, although if the LT66s are ever done in N... Regards, Gerry.
  11. Hi, Postie brought mine lunchtime, delighted. I'd just like to add my congratulations to those involved in putting this project together. Regards, Gerry.
  12. Hi, I posted on the initial 'British' batch almost 18 months ago with some photo's, after a good wash but prior to attempts at smoothing and painting: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/102514-british-n-cars-on-shapeways/ Sadly, precious little progress on these since but hopefully photo's theree more useful to the potentially interested than the cg images on Shapeways. I do agree that the difference between the 1/148 and 1/160 scales is too much of a stretch for me, I have quite a collection of Tomytec vehicles at 1/150 which are fine if only as acceptable equivalents/placeholders for a modern era layout, some of which at least do relate to those running in the UK although sometimes under different model names. It would certainly be far better to have much more representative UK makes/models covering the different timescales we individually would like of course, but surely that would need a very robust market to underpin the investment that would be needed to even scratch the surface I think, a very difficult ask for someone like ODC or anyone else joining in as a supplier to commit finance to with any confidence. Regards, Gerry.
  13. Hi Dave, I would have thought including a very special King George V would sharpen minds as a crowdfunding 'reward'. Regards, Gerry.
  14. Hi, The NGS Journal states: A 'Rule 1' certainty for me, just have to decide which livery... Regards, Gerry.
  15. Hi, Added to the roster mid-week so behaved myself with pre-Chrimbo spending , had to await better daylight to manage vaguely passable snappery: Thank you Mr Kato Santa. Regards, Gerry
  16. Hi, I've had one of these: http://www.shapeways.com/product/7H3MFPJJV/n-krauss-maffei?optionId=43709920 languishing in my 'to-do' drawer for a long while, there'll plenty more time for Jason and chums to get one to market before I'm likely to get to it Regards, Gerry.
  17. Hi Recent reply to that query on the Dapol Digest I did post a link to the DCC Supplies website page on my post a couple of days ago, but as with so much interweb 'virtual ephemera' it no longer links. Regards, Gerry
  18. Hi Andy, Green bonnet , black cab roof and radiator top. I had originally pre-ordered a standard green version, but once this was announced I switched. Not so much for the bonnet top though, I have a preference for the early BR crest. Regards, Gerry.
  19. Hi, Postie brought this at 9 this morning: Super service from DCC Supplies and Royal Mail Regards, Gerry.
  20. Hi, Called by DCC Supplies earlier today, my https://www.dccsupplies.com/item-p-111633/pre-order-special-edition-o-gauge-class-08-d3120-br-green-by-Dapol.htm analogue 08 is on its way Regards, Gerry.
  21. Hi, It is most certainly N. Somewhat amis perhaps, but since Dapol don't do a 66 in OO I would suggest it's an understandable error of omission on MR's part. Given that it's the season of good will "...and all that swaddling..." I think we can be a touch relaxed about it. The non-member topic on the Dapol Digest can be found here: https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/forum/n-gauge-models/diesel/class-66/659-66779-evening-star HTH Regards, Gerry
  22. Hi, Delighted to meet and have a quick chat on Saturday, equally so to part with the cash for one... Regards, Gerry.
  23. Hi Grahame, Looking great as usual, DCC Supplies show Archer Louvers in various scales: https://www.dccsupplies.com/cl-584/louvres.htm Any use here? Regards, Gerry.
  24. Hi, Great news, I had assumed Dapol meant just all blue versions arriving first off, so DCC Supplies will be after the balance payment soon... There is an image of just the decorated bodyshell - no fittings or chassis: http://www.dccsupplies.com/csp/dcc/dcc/products/opt2/400/111633_preorder_special_edition_o_gauge_class_08_d3120_br_green_by_dapol.jpg Regards, Gerry.
  25. Hi Ben, Thanks for that, certainly they'll look at their very best when I've got them up and running with the layout under them, as I mentioned to Mike my next order of business is trying to get myself match-fit for Warley... Once recovered from that, then, just maybe... Regards, Gerry.
