  1. Hi Bill. I checked 47 035 earlier and it appears that the headcode dominoes are part of the main moulding but the thought was there. Sorry if I got your hopes up. Cheers. Sean.
  2. Are those the PH designs steps Lee? They look very nice. Cheers. Sean.
  3. Sounds like a fair swap Bill. Leave it with me and I'll PM you Murray, thanks for taking the time to post the list. I'll help me and others I'm sure. Cheers. Sean.
  4. I'll see if my Dominoes are removable Bill. If they are, you can have them. Cheers. Sean.
  5. Ah yes. Good point Jon. Of course, I'm a bit of a luddite with dominoes since I model the 4 charactor types only. I'm not bad at 5's and 3's though..... I tried to show the roof detail in my snaps but if anyone needs a front end piccy just say so. Cheers. Sean.
  6. Hi all. As mentioned a few posts back, here is what info I have on my Bachmann 47's. Bear in mind though that mine are a hybrid of box/body/chassis and not complete off the shelf loco's. Firstly, the box labels..... 32-801DS - D1746 Two Tone Green with Digital sound on board. 37-802 - 47 035 Rail Blue with full Yellow ends and domino headcode box. 37-803 - 47 148 Rail Blue with full Yellow ends and 4 digit headcode box. Next, the 21 pin chassis ready for each of my loco's..... ..... and then, 2 x bodies, 47 035 and 47 148, note the differing radiator grilles but the boiler ports are the same..... I always have trouble differentiating between boiler ports and what was fitted to which, so for my part, this is the sort of information I'd like on which Bachmann loco's are available. Cheers. Sean.
  7. Perhaps DJ models might take over the mantle? If the problems with the Dapol Western are owt to go by, it might be better if they sorted that first? Cheers. Sean.
  8. Hello there. Since this thread seems to have been resurrected, I thought I'd post pictures of my last attempt at a class 50, (for class 50 read DP2). Apologies if you'd already seen this one on my detailling thread..... Cheers. Sean.
  9. I remember going over the viaduct above Holbeck sheds in the 80's. Quite unusual by then I'm led to believe but there was still a good number of loco's on shed. I specifically remember a large logo 47, (or Sulzer type 4 to the laird.....) A smashing track plan! Cheers. Sean.
  10. Thanks to you both. With a young'un due next month, (cripes), it will be a while before we get up to Whitby from Hull, but as soon as the ankle biters old enough, we'll be back on the road and heading for your neck of the woods Boris..... Cheers. Sean.
  11. I did not realise you could still get onto Larpool Viaduct. I thought it was blocked at each end. Might have to have a walk along it next time I'm in Whitby. Cheers. Sean.
  12. I've just done one of my O gauge class 26's. I painted the fibreglass engine room roof panel first, then tried to replicate the cross panelling. I then masked the yellow panels whilst still in primer. I did this as, although it should be easy to mask, I didn't want overspray in Blue affecting the subsequent application of Yellow. This looks to be a similar way to how you're doing it although judging by the pace of your work, she'll be finished now? Nice work. Cheers. Sean.
  13. Perhaps you could start another thread 298, discussing the merits of saving her and the likelyhood of such a thing happening?
  14. It looks like the one I saw a picture of Hesperus. Donyou know anything more about them.....? Cheers. Sean.
  15. I wouldn't dream of hitting the "disagree" button Larry, but I have to say, I really did like the Apple Green livery better. Mind, I'm a Yorkshire lad so biased towards anything LNER..... Cheers. Sean.
  16. Doncaster Enterprise is the wrong colour! Last time I saw her she was Apple Green..... She looks smashing though. Cheers. Sean.
  17. Very well put 45059. Cheers. Sean.
  18. No 298, you're quite clearly the one who is against it as I don't see one positive post on this thread from you. I'm merely saying it would be nice to see this "folly" as you so quaintly put it doing what she was built to do instead of rotting away in a siding. I am however a realist, but like a good discussion as per my post above, so please stop trying to put words into my mouth or belittle my opinion. Kind regards. Sean.
  19. A quick check of the "derbysulzers" site led me to this..... http://www.derbysulzers.com/sulzerengine.html ..... theoretically talking of course..... ;o) Cheers. Sean.
  20. I'm still certain I read somewhere that there was a class of loco's derived from the Peaks, (I accept there are a number of different Peak variations and I think this class may have been the same as the 44's), running around The Ukraine or Slovakia. I know 298 et al seem dead set against it, but speaking hyperthetically or "outside the box", if one were to forget costs, has anyone else heard of this class of loco? I'm sure they were featured in one of the recent magazines, traction or the DEMU mag? As I say, I think it extremely unlikely this loco will ever turn a wheel, but it is good to chat hyperthetics...... After all, there is still the myth that Kestrel exists somewhere in Russia and can be found and bought back to the UK. Cheers. Sean.
  21. Having had a bit of a ponder about this subject, I decided to fire off an email to Replica Railways. It would seem they have a stock of 45128 bodies available. Not sure how many they have, but they quoted me £8.50 each. Not at all bad I think. Cheers. Sean.
  22. Such a shame..... How accessable is she? I'd like to take some pictures of an old friend before it's too late. Cheers. Sean.
