  1. Here's a very young Penguin in the cab of 45070 at MC Metals in Glasgow prior to cutting. I had seen her and another three of her classmates laid over at Darlington some weeks previous, so was happy to be able to pay my final respects on this occasion. My favourite Peak happens to be 45041 and forms part of a happy memory of me and dad trainspotting in my home town of Bridlington in the latter half of the 70's. Cheers. Sean.
  2. I went from a Mkll Escort to a Mkl as my first cars. Absolutely superb motors! Sadly, neither were the sporty versions. To say I was amazed that the lady who bought my perfectly sound Mkl sent it to a scrap yard, well, words failed me at the time when I saw my old Blue bonnet travelling round on a White Escort! Such a waste of a perfectly good motor! Anywho, cracking pictures Jeff. Cheers. Sean.
  3. What a grand layout, some really nice modelling. Cheers. Sean.
  4. It would look like the class 89 without a pantograph.....? Cheers. Sean.
  5. No worries, it'll be a while before I get round to mine. Cheers. Sean.
  6. Neil. Could you post a close up of the notch you cut in the bonnet for me please? Ivan. Could you send me the article details too please? Smashing work BTW Neil. Cheers. Sean.
  7. Some very innovative work on the 37 Daddyman! With 6 Lima 40 bodies waiting for replacement windscreens, it's an idea I might consider using myself. Cheers. Sean.
  8. Just a thought...... When D100 was restored, I saw footage of her being worked on by some apprentices at Toton. Not necessarily for 45 015, but do EWS or the like still do this sort of thing? I'm guessing not, as this would eat into any hard earned company profits etc? I'm sure there's a good few wrecks out there for new engineers to work on, probably class 56/58/60 by now, (as you'll probably guess, I'm not sure which of the 2nd generation diesels still exist). Cheers. Sean.
  9. You've got to keep your mind on the job when theres a Yellow shunt disc around leopard! Laird, I'm really liking this so far, I can already imagine a plethora of Peaks running up and down although pre 62 there'll not be much Yellow on the fronts which is not necessarily a bad thing. Cheers. Sean.
  10. Hi BarryO. How long does it take you to apply the weathering on your loco's? Thanks. Sean.
  11. It looks to have had its front doors sealed up already too.....?
  12. Indeed she is Chard. I seem to recall you posted a.colour picture of her a while back on the Waverly Route with a rake of Blue/Grey Mk1's which shows her in economy Green. I just had to find another one and have never seen this particular picture before..... My model period is 1965 - 1968, so this livery is spot on for me. As for time frames for completing my 4mm version, well, lets just say, the way it looks at the moment, I'd be happy to take on the 12"/1' scale version straight after..... ;o) Cheers. Sean.
  13. Funny you should say that leopard. I'll have a Replica body with no nose vents once I'm done..... ;o) Cheers. Sean.
  14. For those who can dream..... http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/tcs-pics/5613706205/sizes/in/photostream/ This is how my model of D14 will eventually look. Cheers. Sean.
  15. You're doing it again 298.....! A discussion continues between members of the forum about how nice it would have been/would be to see this loco in her former glory and you continue to INSIST on forcing your narrow minded views on the rest of us. You have asked a number of times why those in the "for" corner have not berated those in the "against" corner apart from yourself. The difference is, the others in the "against" corner appear at least, to respect the oppositions views and vice versa. For me at least, your comments are getting VERY tiresome! Please feel free to hit the "disagree" icon as you have with many of my other posts. I note that at the time of writing that it was at the top of the 3rd page since anyone liked your posts suggesting to me that your argument is wearing thin..... Sean.
  16. I'm not sure how they managed it, but when I visited last week, everything in the video above, apart from the Peak had gone from the siding. Even the ex LMS BG had been moved and lord knows how they managed that! As Paul Daniels would have said during his, (and the Peaks), heyday...... Now that's magic.....! Cheers. Sean.
  17. Hi Colin. I'm very sorry to hear your latest news. Chin up matey and do your best to beat it eh? Cheers. Sean.
  18. This is not a complaint at all Lee, but you seem to get a large amount of fictional livery commissions. They all look very nice too. I once got asked if I would paint a Triang Co Bo in Pullman livery as per the 73. I agreed, but the chap never came back to me. Bet it would have suited it though..... Cheers Sean.
  19. If you take the time to actually read my posts 298, you would actually see that I agree with those "respected and knowledgeable people". I've already said that I personally don't think the locomotive will ever turn a wheel again and I've said this from the start. What I can do though is have to imagination to think, "what if" and while this loco is still extant, I will continue to think "what if", of course, I do posess the ability to seperate imagination from reality. This is an opinion neither you, nor anyone else will change. When the loco has either rusted to oblivion or been cut up on site, then I will stop thinking "what if" and probably focus my concentration on one of the other loco's 37 114 mentions above. For now, I've said my piece, no one else seems to really have an issue with it and even if they did, they don't appear to be actively trying to change my mind. Please, for now enjoy my pictures and keep rubbing your hands in anticipation of this hopeless locomotives early demise. The Penguin rests...... Cheers. Sean.
  20. If by now 298 you're not sure of my opinion, then I must be typing in a different language! Let me make it quite clear for you! It's criminal that this locomotive has been left to get into such a state that it is nigh on impossible for it to be saved. I along with others posting here do not have the money or time to do anything about this and your constant, (patronising), suggestions to the contrary are, frankly, wearing a bit thin with me! You seem like a cup half empty type of chap who clearly has no interest in this subject, much prefering the AC electrics or steam loco's. Thankfully, the world is not full of people with a negative attitude such as yours otherwise nothing would have ever been preserved. Once again, I find myself having to ask you, within the public forum, to stop trying to put words into my mouth or change my opinions to a negative. Cheers. Sean.
  21. NO! I thought I'd made my opinion quite clear in my previous posts......
  22. And, much as I hate to admit it, a steamer seems to have way more appeal to the general public. As said earlier, there would have to be a heck of a lot of will, (and a little more cash.....!) ;o) Cheers. Sean.
  23. Just noticed on the 4th picture down of my post that the axle box cover on the right hand axle is missing and the axle appears to be chocked up. Given that, and the fact that the loco is pretty much "landlocked", I honestly doubt she'll ever turn a wheel again..... Cheers. Sean.
  24. Ironically, she was still generating interest. Just as I set off in the car having taken these images, another chap on a cycle turned up just to have a look at the old girl over the parapet. Sadly, (and perhaps part of the reasons she is in the state she's in), I couldn't drive up to the station to view the other locomotives on site as there appears to be no vehicular access to the station and the car park 1/2 mile away was gated off. I feel there's little chance of highlighting 015s plight when it is so difficult to get to see her. Admittedly, it's a weekday in winter, but I was still left feeling disappointed not to be able to see some of the other stock at the railway. Cheers. Sean.
  25. Went to "pay my respects" this morning..... Such a shame..... It seems though that the sun does sometimes shine on the righteous..... Cheers. Sean.
