  1. Is it the one that is "preserved" too Chard? I use the word in its loosest possible sense of course.....
  2. I believe, although don't quote me that D14 was the only one left with nose doors in 1967. I seem to recall researching this a year or so back as I wanted one with nose doors and my period is 1967ish and the others had been converted to class 46 style boxes. I may of course be wrong so please don't take it as gospel, but I recall picking this one for my subject. I also believe that this one is the only one of the nose door versions to be "preserved"..... Please correct me if I am, (probably), wrong. Cheers. Sean.
  3. Thanks Peter. As many pictures as you feel appropriate. I have some mashima motors so will keep the Lima chassis and when funds permit, will buy some better profile wheels. I'll be doing what became 20 227 and two which bacame class 20/9's and which I signalled on the weed killing train when I was a Signalman. All three will be modelled in late 60's condition. Anywho, I've hijacked enough of your thread with my ramblings, back to you. Cheers. Sean.
  4. I like the class 20 mod. I have a couple of old Lima ones to bring up to speed and will need to do some research as I understand that different batches had different sized cabside windows. Do you know if A1 or Shawplan do an etched radiator grill to replace the moulded ones? Cheers. Sean.
  5. A bery interesting project Shane. I keep looking in to watch progress, but thought I'd post and say how good it's looking. Going for a look at the HST now too..... Cheers. Sean.
  6. There's still a lot to be said for the good old magazine though Brian. I took my data panel details from those presented in Modern Locomotives Illustrated, (No. 121 - class 44/45/46). The saloon is looking very good too, just needs a small loco to propel it, perhaps a 27....? ;o) Cheers. Sean.
  7. I just got some data panels for my Peak from Precision Labels Jeff. There's a section where you actually fill in your details, class/ETH index etc, then they print them up for you and hey presto. I was very impressed. Thanks for showing the paint stage too Brian. Cheers. Sean.
  8. Thanks Dougal. I'll pop over to the WB thread and check in. Cheers. Sean.
  9. That looks very good Brian I wonder if you might show the stages of masking/painting you use? I have a couple of easybuilds to do and although I suspect they're similar or the same as OO gauge, it's nice to have it confirmed. Cheers. Sean.
  10. Hello Father. I enjoyed your 33 conversion, so will be following this one too. I understand from a friend that you're doing a GUV also, but can't seem to find the thread. Could you post a link for me? Cheers. Sean.
  11. Well Colin, if you feel the TP cabs would be a challange, I'll definately be sticking to plan A then! ;o)
  12. Hi Colin. I'm really liking your scratch build cab fronts, they're really inspiring. I've almost been given the confidence to have a go at scratch building my Trans - Pennine cabs..... Hmmmn, maybe not. Keep up the good work, this is the first time I've followed one of your builds from its inception and I'm just wondering how I haven't found your work sooner. Cheers. Sean.
  13. Could you post a picture of a similar 45XX? The one from Mike above assists me in knowing what to look for and a picture of the other one would help us more modern image types. I'd hate to see it and not know it was the one being looked for. Cheers. Sean.
  14. I would recommend Mike Models too. I think there is an advert every month in RM magazine which suggests all sorts of water cranes and buffer stops etc. Cheers. Sean.
  15. Very useful topic. Thanks for posting. Cheers. Sean.
  16. And that's what's important Colin. Can't think how many times I've thought...... "But I'll know it's there"..... Cheers. Sean. Oh, incredible work on the compressor too by the way.
  17. Thanks for the compliment Mike. It's numbered DB999506 although I don't know enough about them to comment on diagrams etc. It is a Brittania Pacific kit and I painted it in this slightly non standard livery as it has to run on an 80's BR Blue layout and also be part of my late 60's collection. I believe it is the smae diagram as Brians larger version, hence posting the picture. Cheers. Sean.
  18. Hi Brian, (all). Just been doing a bit of fettling on my OO gauge inspection saloon. I hope you don't mind my posting a quick picture given the subject matter..... Cheers. Sean.
  19. Smashing, thanks for the update Colin. I'll be popping that into my "other peoples ideas" box for some upcoming, (non EMU), projects. Cheers. Sean.
  20. Those compressors are smashing Colin. As one who "dabbles" in plastics, I can pretty much work out how you've made them, but perhaps you could explain in a little more detail about your methods to us novices?..... Cheers. Sean.
  21. Smashing. That's my particular era sorted then. Might even have a Stanier porthole to replace an earlier conversion. Cheers. Sean.
  22. Can I take that as a compliment or is it a different Sean? ;o) Lee, some smashing work going on here and a joy to watch things progressing. Cheers. Sean.....
  23. Smashing work! A really interesting read. The 156's look much much better with a decent underframe! Cheers. Sean.
  24. Ah, but on a Pullman Colin, the opulance dictates that table lamps are mandatory. Mine work with some Bachmann Mk1's, so they stood out, having none in the older cars. Cheers. Sean.
