  6. Did you re-wheel it yet? The older Heljan's with the strange wheels were always totally erratic - "non conductive mud magnets" - but since the wheels were changed - no problems, a real delight to own and operate - smoothe as could possibly be... (This reminds me that I still have Eastleigh to do... )
  7. The dancer has vanished... But The Windmill was the giveaway But in her place are some power lines... (I just now accidently discovered that Diss featured on Posts 1146 to 1148 ...)
  8. Thanks they look the part - slightly off topic that backscene fits in really well. Is it a commercial product or something you created?
  9. You've made it when there is an unexpected knock on your door. You open it expecting a parcel from Liverpool, but instead you discover Chris Nevard standing on your doorstep Camera in hand... Honestly you've almost made it when you have figured out which parts of a Slaters kit belong to the model you are trying to put together...

Probably brake gear - I've got a bag of the stuff in the box and really aren't sure where it is all supposed to go.

  13. Very shaky maybe if one only took photos of the layout from odd angles with a very flat focus camera and never looked at it with one's eyes I would love a 1:24 bus but what guage trains would go with it? American 14mm?
  14. Below scale buses and lorries in many cases, due to space limitations, won't work on a typical 7mm layout. (What annoyed me intensely, whilst searching for that elusive 1/43rd scale bus were the idiot sellers on ebay adertising Dinky, Corgi etc 1/50th buses and trucks as 1/43rd scale. ) I acquired a minichamps Mercedes O 3500 bus as a stand in, - the only real problem is its LHD and I now have german tourists on my early 1950's layout . It looks vaguely like a Bedford OB, with a lot of fancy chrome bits and captures the period quite well. The minichamps detailing however is excellent, and in my view worth the cost... (Minichamps also make some neat German (mainly Opel Blitz and Mercedes) trucks in 1/43rd)
  15. Is it Windows 7 or just the freaking G@$#$^y computer that freezes up at random intervals?
