  1. So, 10th aniversary - I expect a good turnout.

We're all as bad as each other!! I don't know who it was said it was the tenth - not me, I just went along with it! Actually, next year will be 8, not 10! :fool:

Still expect a good turnout, though.....

  2. I've counted the pennies and we are a little bit short compared to previous years. However there is enough in the cookie jar to run again next year.

    So, 10th aniversary - I expect a good turnout.

A request was made for an O scale theme - OK, I can't devote the whole show to it, but I already provisionally have 5 O scale layouts and 2 On30 plus a couple of HO.

    Date: Saturday 17th June 2017.

  3. Some video:

Just thinking, have you considered a small module meet again in the other room to show freemo and create a larger layout for the show? I guess the expense is difficult to justify though.

    Always a possibility, Paul.

  4. Hopefully, after Rob's good fortune, he bought us all lottery tickets on his way home! (I'll let him tell the story for those that weren't there!)

But thanks to everybody who did come today - exhibitors, traders and visitors, plus of course those who helped behind the scenes.

The feedback has all been positive so we must be doing something right!

A pleasure to meet old and new acquaintances. Good luck Prof on the remainder of your trip around Europe, and I hope everybody had a safe journey home.

  5. As long as we are inside!

Given the torrential rain for the past 3 hours or so, it will be in everybody's interest to be inside.

I'm just about to go up to the venue to start clearing away the chairs etc and mark out. I have a feeling i'm going to get rather wet.

    Let's hope it's a bit drier tomorrow!

  6. A SWMBO scheduled event sadly trumps that. Once again Nick's timing means I can't make it. Beginning to think he does it on purpose. Same with the Freemo in Sept.

Yes, Andrew - I have access to your diary!!

  7. Dear Mike,

I have it on good authority that some have travelled across hemispheres, thru multiple timezones, and covered many 1000s of air miles to attend TVNAM...

    (No excuses... ;-) )

    Happy Modelling,

    Aim to Improve,

    Prof Klyzlr

Lookikng forward to meeting you Prof.

  8. I was surprised to hear that some of you guys liked Brooklyn Brewery's products.

Some of us will drink anything - isn't that right, Ray?

I persuaded Mrs Northpoint to drive us out into the country for a drink or three this afternoon and guess what I found?

  9. Getting to the show....

It seems that the cheapest option by far for me is to travel down to Litchfield at just £28.20 vs the £42.10 going Rugeley. Unfortunately I have to have stops at Tamworth as via BNS isn't available on that ticket, but i guess we can't have everything.

I know it's probably a big ask, but does anyone know how much the buses cost from Litchfield to Handsacre return? I can find the timetable for the buses, (annoyingly I get in 3 minutes after the bus leaves, meaning i'll have to wait and will be 15 minutes late to the show, which should allow the hoards at the door to disperse a bit lol) however, I cannot find a price guide and not being from the area it's hard to just pop down to the office and ask.

Nick - I'll try and find out the fare if I can.

Re Tamworth - I don't know if you're familiar with the station but it is a 2 level affair with the Cross Country route on the higher level and the WCML on the lower level so interchange is easy.

  10. I think I may well have to visit this, 2 days after my birthday and only £42.10 return on the train, (unless anyone is driving across from Lincoln and would like to split fuel costs).

Rob will already know that I'm a great admirer of his layout Tilley Yard South from elsewhere and it will be a great opportunity to see this and others up close.

    The more the merrier!

    Look forward to seeing you.

  11. Thanks for all the replies/suggestioins etc.

I have re-jigged things a bit and hopefully the gaps won't be too obvious (it was a bit tight anyway!).

Andy has the go ahead for his demo which I'm sure will be interesting.

  12. Unfortunately, a couple of layouts have pulled out recently. It's probably too late to get replacements but if anybody knows of a couple of reasonable sized layouts that could step in at short notice, let me know.

Some more raffle prizes very kindly donated by Mal (Alcanman of this parish) - many thanks Mal, very generous of you.

  13. Morning Nick, I hope you had a good day again yesterday, thanks for another little play on Saturday, it's such a nice layout to work.

You're welcome, Andy, glad you enjoyed it again.

One learning point from Derby - the sector plate tracks are a touch too close and the rolling stock, especially the passenger stock, was fouling the next track.

All my own fault as I was trying to do it all in a cramped space because the weather was bad and I couldn't spread out outside.

Another modification before Bloxwich in a couple of weeks. Hopefully the weather will stay fine...

EDIT: I'm going mad here - it's not going to Bloxwich! That's Heath Green!
