  2. photos and video now on-line! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/67477-wharncliffe-junction-gwr-in-the-1930s/page-7
  3. Just unpacked the Dukedog to find a loose part and tender brake handle bent :-( Photos to follow when I get home
  4. Mine arrived today.... Couldn't leave the office I was in to collect it ! It's still in one of my offices, to be collected tomorrow morning..... Photis on-line soon on the Wharncliffe pages....
  5. Omg has the world gone mad? Hard day at work, excited to get Hattons email about the Dukedogs... Nip to the Gym.... Get home to find.... Shock horror... The Finching Sisters have passed away / been done in ...... Hold the Front page.... Oh no that was the problem in the first place! Someone nip back to 1947 and nobble that editor! Lol
  6. My conundrum is.... Do I need 1 or 2? Or is that just plain greedy?
  7. Crew training for the recently arrived DMU:
  8. As I understand things, it was due to be done about November last year, but was delayed in order to get more "closed time" and do more work. Ballast arrived late December, hauled through to Horsted by a class 66 diesel - they seem to be regular visitors to the railway these days! News about the points and the recent land slips are here: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/ext/inf_news.html
  9. Do you think we could stretch the years about Mike and pretend that Tre Pol and pen went to Oswestry in the late 30's? - I can see it thundering through Wharncliffe Junc in 1936 :-)
  10. Presumably the Finching sisters were still in church though as it was posted at 12:05... Plus, if it was that cold out there today the Signalman on duty is a hardy chap, as all his windows are open!!! Looking forward to seeing that King roaring through the station Robin :-)
  11. Grass looks fine in those two photos... Hopefully the signalman at Wrangaton will stop that parcels train, looks as if the fireman did not secure the lamps correctly! :-) lol
  12. Bachmann told me, by the end of January earlier this week....
  13. Hi guys Apologies, but I have only scanned the topic.... I thought ages ago that Dapol (in the time of Dave possibly) spoke about bracket signals. I've just been on their website and can not see any mention of them, did I imagine this?
  14. I have now taken the plunge..... and bought a new Hornby Arriva Cross Country HST. The donor motors and frame will now sit under the Lima Merlin liveried body. I've done the trailing power car, although I had problems with the light clusters. I will next start on the Power car. A photo of the different liveried Power Cars is on my Wharncliffe page: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/67477-wharncliffe-junction-gwr-in-the-1930s/page-7 I will take photos of the next conversion and post over the weekend.
  15. Shall I reply then.... A: Where shall I sight the camera for best effect. - Shed or Station please. B: What stock would you like me to use. - How Cheeky shall I be.... Given I have just been called a Cheeky Sod :-) in a PM a. Toplights! b. Autocoach c. Centenary's....... C GWR or BR period. 10:30am ex-PDN Cornish Riviera Limited - GWR please Cheeky enough?
  16. Bachmann have replied! - They will pass my request onto the R & D department.
  17. I assume you are being ironic!
  18. Thanks Mike, that looks great! Can we see more of your railway? - 1930's GWR per chance?
  19. It's certainly an emotive subject! BUT Roy Watts in the current Bluebell News, warns (or maybe I read too much into it), that diesels could / will / maybe coming to the railway...... Bearing in mind I am only a member, not a working member or employee.... There seems to be a tide of opinion that the first train of the day from East Grinstead - might - in future be diesel hauled. On the basis of the early starts to get a steam loco prepared for an ecs working to EG first...... It's only a thought at this stage. Moving on from the diesel topic... This from today's Bluebell Facebook page: An update to the Locomotive Duty Roster that we now plan to use the SECR H-class No.263 on the trains this weekend. The Loco duty roster is here: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/loco_roster.html My photos from my "day out with the diesel" are here: http://www.nealball.co.uk/Trains/Bluebell-Railway/West-Hoathly-July-6th-2013
  20. i think you will find it's "another" diesel on the Bluebell !! :-)
