  1. An extra pic showing roughly the planned course of the line when the viaduct is built...... Phill
  2. I built up the bridge abutments for the new viaduct yesterday evening....... The present line in this area & the raised ground it's on will be completely removed once the viaduct is built & the new line is up & running. Phill
  3. This morning Ivo Peters managed to chase the Withercombe-Barnstaple-Exeter (all stations) & catch the train at a few locations along the branch. Withercombe platform 2 see's Hymek 7017 backing down to the train.... Departing Withercombe.... Through the wooded valley....... Crossing the second major bridge on the line... A couple of views in 'Box Cutting' ...... And finally 7017 can be seen crossing bridge 3 towards Barnstaple & beyond..... Phill
  4. Box is not that good really Barnaby, it is very expensive takes forever to grow & can be wiped out by blight, I think CME is using the same small leaved evergreen as me for his garden railway
  5. They were still running into Withercombe North Devon in the summer of 74 too Neil
  6. I'm thinking western region favorite 25225 for the Rat? Like this old pic of mine I posted earlier but without the domino's for 1974/5 ....... As far as I can ascertain their is no cosmetic difference between 25/1's & 25/2's?.....unless anyone can tell me otherwise?(the kit is intended as a 25/1 I think but my loco choice is a 25/2) Cheers Phill
  7. Not sure yet mate, but it will be a BR (WR) Rat with plated over doors, I have been looking trough my old spotting slides as I would like the loco to have a personal connection & I have come with these...... Phill
  8. A bit more weathering this morning on the Bogie B Van & Lowmac before I get on with the Class 25. The Bogie B Van is finished now I think, I may possibly add a cleaned patch of BR blue showing a cleaned running number ? .......the Lowmac has had it's underframe weathered & some worn wood effects on the decking & rust on the steel panels........... Phill
  9. In between filling sessions on the Rat I have been sorting out some of my GOG Cleckheaton purchases. The first one was the 'Southern Bogie B Van', I'm afraid the lovley S.R. green has been replaced with good old BR grime ..... The £8 Low Mac meanwhile has gained a set of wheels & bearings & it's G.W.R. grey is being replaced by 'Shagged Bauxite' (Withercombe P/W's in house livery lol). I will be weathering this wagon further in between jobs on the Class 25 & will take a pic again when it's finished, but for now here's a pic of where we are at now ............ Oh well, back to the 25 Phill
  10. Maybe the list was in order of modelling skills Steve? lol
  11. Nice to see one of our collective Peaks has made an appearence in BR blue Rob..........by coincidence my Class 25 also did the same yesterday afternoon when we got back from GOG Cleckheaton
  12. Great day for me yesterday at the GOG Show Cleckheaton, great to meet up with friends from around the country, Thanks to Mike for the tip about the SR Bogie B Van....just the thing for Withercombe's parcel trains. I also got a bargain from the Bring & Buy, mine was a Low Mac for the princely sum of £8 which will look great in the growing P/Way fleet once it has received some TLC in Withercombe Works......apart from the bargains, I picked up some MK1 bits from Sean @ EasyBuild & Hymek bits from Pete @ PRMRP. When I got home I gave my pet Rat a blast with BR Blue! Still a little more filling to do alas, but she's getting there! Cheers Phill.
  13. Thanks I will research which sub class the 25 belongs to 25/1 or 25/2 & Derby Sulzers is a good starting point .
  14. Peak looks nice Rob, but why is the nose masked at this stage?
  15. The headcode being too low & separate valances among other things didn't help much either
  16. My resistance is weakening towards those Heljan tankers
  17. That's a great image Andy, but with my bus drivers pedantic head on, I would say the Decker is turning way too early into that junction
  18. Never thought to look at the instructions lol....cheers
