I must admit to liking plasticard, although 'down ere' its getting hard to find, especially the embossed!
I now tend to keep a supply (or shop as Mrs BR calls it!) as you never know when you will need something!
I recently bought a litre of Butanone of the web for about

If only Frank Hornby had thought of it!..................................
-
And so easy to modify, be it a repaint, cutting bits off, adding bits, you name it, you can do it!
-
Who knows indeed!
Good idea Al! If we can have interchangeable stock or buildings etc, why not scenery!

Something I must admit, I haven't ever given much thought to..............
what happens to the track inside the shed?
Looking very nice Tim!

Must admit, never thought about using Copydex but it makes sense!
I need to build a small diorama (for piccies) so I will give it a go.
Is it possible to buy in bulk?
Smell should be ok, I live above a knockin shop !!
-
Now thats a 'prof'!
-
Al, what do you use to dilute the copydex?
AND.............how do you get rid of the pong?

Its a pleasure to follow this blog!
Great observation there (a correctly tied load) and top modelling.
Lovely!
-
Al, hows about a signal box, with the rear going down say 'three floors', a bit like Okehampton.
The rising ground could be reasonably steep and the building would add a little height plus interest taking you away from the over bridge?

Reminds me of time spent in Amsterdam when on joint training with the RNLMC!
Great memories including the Texel Boat Run!!
Mind you, Amsterdam was better, and it wasn't for the tulips!!!!!

How do you hold the axle guards at 90 degrees whilst the epoxy dries?
I have 'tack glued' before using a tiny drop of cyano dabbed on with a cocktail stick.
Seems to work ok.

Lovely work on the roofs there.
Is that talc?
I've been using masking tape, then spraying it to simulate roof canvas etc, then dry brushing but it's not as good as what you have done.
Be interested to know how...........

I've always liked the range and wished there was more. The mouldings in both 4mm and 7mm are superb.
Quite agree re the 7mil minks, with the end packs as well the combinations are endless!
I like the 'sacks', how did you do them?
The finish and weathering...........top drawer!
-
Tim, trees look the biz!
-
Lovely so far!
Was there today!!

Good grief!once the cockling has gone downHow did it turn out Al?
-
Hi Al, seems to work well.
Done similar here, they only prob I find is the scenery looks a bit 'fllat, ie 2 dimensional. I am working out how to try and get round that, perhaps by having a few projecting tree limbs!
As a shift worker I get to watch a bit of daytime tv.
One of the progs that interests me most is 'The Joy of Painting' by Bob Ross.
Not everyones cup of tea, but the way he paints loos to me ideal for doing backscenes!
I must get round to having a go sometime.
The barn looks right to, I have just got some of the new Model Mates rust effect and would recommend it for the machinery!
Oxford are doing a 3 set for about a tenner, so offfffff you go!
-
Glad you liked the suggestion, they really do look the biz!

Dave gorgeous weathering!
Have you ever thought about using longer strands of electrostatic grass in the bottoms, just a bit poking out.
Gives a great impression of straw!
All thats missing is the smell!
Excellent!

Dave, love the concept, especially the wrap round back scene.
Saw one similar (cant recall the name) where the edge was finished to look like a tree and was 'slightly' over scale, forcing the perspective and drawing you in, of course there were trees besides it to.
I believe some locations used a trap actually built into the slip, hopefully someone will be able to tell you.
Just looking at the plan, you can almost hear the creak of the sleepers and smell the creosote.
-
Very nice indeed! Great scenics and weathering!
Only 1 suggestion...............if I may?
I would Tease out the blue flowers a little or make the flowers a bit smaller?
Looking great tho, would love to see it in the flesh!

Dunno about high summer, we have poppies in a field not a mile from here, quite a few to.
The field runs alonside the Cornish maniline but we do get the seasons a bit earlier here.
People tend to forget the various colours, on a walk today we spotted various hues of blue, pink, yellow and white and even 'copped' an early purple orchid (we know of 4 flowering within a cpl of miles).
I think the colour looks great, and draws your eye into the layout.
The trees and scenery suggest late spring/early summer so I would say just leave it and add a bit more colour
Help needed with station building!

Mickey I think you are probably right there.
Look at so many of our Victorian civic buildings, even the most mundane (ie sewerage works etc) seem to be making a statement of grandeur, pomp and a sense of superiority..
Ohhhh for architects like that now!
The phot gives the impression that the top of the door is almost level with the bottom of the canopy awning or valence!
And those chimneys!
ps..........I wonder if all Victorian knobs were 3 feet off the floor!
