  1. The sun has got his hat on.......at last. Time to put me notice in I think........ enough is enough
  2. Rob, not long to go now mate!!! Get those monthly 'free' shekels..... you'll soon forget that you paid in for them. Luverly jubberly.
  3. Sympathies and best wishes Chris........ my own recent (ie within the last year or so) experiences of the NHS have been nothing short of a joke, including my own bout of PTSD and removing the top of a finger with a scalpel (unrelated by the way). 3 days and 5 hospital visits for the finger tip to be reattached, the last for the op being in the most Covid unsafe environment I have experienced in 18 months and I have yet to see anyone face to face re the PTSD. To be fair it was only diagnosed 11 months ago so perhaps I'm an inpatient patient. As an aside, there are a few PRO motorcycle cafes round this way now, that even allow car drivers in now and then....they seem to be doing very well, I hope. Stay safe one and all.
  4. Evening one and all........ talking of t.v. house progs..... Me old crew mate bought a flat which had featured in the original series of Changing Rooms...... Oh dear, painted tiles, poorly prepped so the paint peeled off, gold leaf stuck to the walls, of course it had rubbed off leaving double sided stuck the the walls which were covered in fluff and dogs hair, a veritable cornucopia of badly fitted mdf and best of all black gaffer tape holding the under bath plumbing together. Thats just what you could see! Happy name day to Tony et al.
  5. Evening one and all.....l see the latest thing now is......potato 'milk'. Definitely one for the no meat brigade. Now I wonder if some marketing bod, working in a mashed spud warehouse said Hey we've loads of this watery crap leftover, we have to pay to get rid, how about we market is as the latest greatest foodstuff...... the woke brigade will lap it up. Lets call it... potato milk..... Dear ofd FiL farmed teddies ( spuds) can imagine him asking how you milk a spud that has no t@ts lol.
  6. Morning one and all, and to those who need them, thoughts and best wishes to you. Restaurants.......Interesting to hear other view points post pandemic.....Well We've eaten out numerous times since, well since we could. Local pub, chef not back yet but great meals for a fiver and quite a bit of variety. You can eat inside, outside, but not in the land ladies chamber. Last few weeks we have had Indian, Japanese, Nepalese and Thai. No problems what so ever with the food, staff, or service. Numerous cups of coffee, ice creams and breakfasts as we are trying to do our bit to keep the local businesses going, which includes the rather splendid choo choo shop in the Muff. No requirement to cut any slack because everyone is doing their very best and beyond here, tho doubt we could find fault if we really looked hard enough. Well no, probably not, because everyone has seemed to be going above and beyond. Eateries and staff here seem just glad to see you. Some of the local tourist hotspots are busy, nay very busy so we are keeping away for now, mainly because it's impossible to park, even on the bike! Come to Devon or Cornwall, people do seem to be genuinely doing their very best. No complaints here Sarnt Major.
  7. Afternoon one and all...... Work today took me thru Keyham, first time in weeks, and it was quite moving to see all the flowers, posters, and most heart rendering of all, children's toys and balloons. I was the Neighbourhood Beat Manager for almost 3 years, even having a tea stop in Biddick Drive, sad days indeed. A few of the residents called me the Sheriff of Keyham, I hope I was a good one.
  8. Typical summer weather......... rain stopped play. Again.
  9. Morning one and all from an unforecasted sunny Kernow. Trying to decide to either go for a blast or a more sedate paddle with the kayaks around the Lynher/Tamar whilst the sun ( I think it's the sun) is peering through the many clouds we currently have overhead. Just glad we didn't pay a small fortune to holiday here, prices are currently extortionate! Poly I share your pain, tho much fun and joy has been gained attempting to solve the 180° rotational problem. I've added a 'clip on' to a certain wooden/ mdf creation in the spare room but alas it's still NOT big enough. I have a cunning plan......
  10. When I first read it........ I thought it read you often see people dogging....! Im off to Specsavers.....
  11. The paper looks excellent!
  12. Afternoon one and all....... apologies for not having been on for some time, no excuses really, sometimes you just lose your mojo. Having said that life seems to be going as well as it could be, given the times we live in. Yesterday we celebrated our 37th anniversary AND it was a certain ladies 50th plus 10 birthday, so a great day was had. I'm back making things out of plasticard and MEK so I guess thing's are on the mend. I've ditched all of the tablets and blasting myself out in the gym 5 or 6 times a week, lost 21lbs and clothes now fit.......I occasionally even need a belt. World events put things a bit more into perspective, having lost the odd friend or 2 to the war in Afghanistan, and recent events in Keyham in Plymouth. I served the community there for almost 3 years, as the Keyham Neighbourhood Beat Manager, and even had a tea stop in Biddick, sad times indeed. Generic best wishes to one and all, commiserations where due and hopefully normal service will be resumed soon.
  13. 10,000 not out, that's some achievement! Where would we be without ER's. I might not contribute on a regular basis, but its nice to drop in daily, just to see how everyone is.
  14. One of my best runners is an old Tri-Ang L1! OK its been tarted up a bit, fitted with Romfords (remember them) and tender pick up to boot, and to bring it into the 23rd century I splashed out on a polymolendenum (or some such rare earth type) magnet on flea bay. For a couple of quid its given the old dog a new lease of life, perhaps I should try one myself.
  15. Doesn't remind me of anywhere in Kernow.......
  16. Nice to see the layout back up AND running CK. You got a special flat wagon/weltrol for the grand piano??
  17. Blimey that takes me back......one of my old instructors saying...... You cant but admire the sight of a sniper inching through the long undergrowth.....as long as its not the enemy doing the admiring!
  18. Can't beat an impulsive purchase.......... of which I have many. I'm out if the closet, no shame or guilt, no furtive smuggling of brown paper parcels........ Out, out, OUT I say!!! ( I've just bought a class 33 in green!).
  19. Greetings one and all, and generic best wishes etc as appropriate....... Apols etc for not being around but a certain IPad has become so clunky now as far as the 'net goes that I hardly bother with it at all. Hopefully I can get sorted next week when I am off and hopefully certain stores will have stock in (where are they all going I wonder?). Dont mention earwax as a trip to Floriday resulted in a visit to the ER, to be seen by a nurse who slapped me on the back and asked me to call him 'Mitch'. All very efficient and I was in and out, having had a blob of wax removed in under 10 mins, start to finish. Then led into (what I later realised was a secure room) and lady clerk is typing away and asks me will I pay cash, for a 50% discount......Yes of course I will. Okay hunny (you dont get that on the NHS!) that will be seven fifty. Now having only been in the hospital for about 15 mins, including her time, had a nurse look at my ear, remove wax in under a minute etc I hand over a $10 note. Ohhhhhh you English and your humor......... thats $750 !!!!!!!!!!!! Mrs BR said it was the only time she has truly seem me speechless. I was kept locked up (basically) till the insurance sorted things about an hour and a bit later. Three cheers for the NHS!!!! The bill included things like weighing me, taking my pulse, temperature, height and weight, use of the bed, linen etc etc etc!!!!
  20. Certainly coming on now. One of the things I liked about the OO layout is how the trackwork seemed to flow around the town, or was it the town flowing around the trackwork?
