I've thought of it before, but at the speed I build layouts, there's not much point actually doing it!

When it's finished you could build another layout underneath, and rotate it so the one you want to operate is on top! Or if you're building a modular layout, build modules back to back and rotate!
  3. Some views of the station building after closure.
  4. I've been starting to think about it Marc! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/30848-timesaver-layouts/page__st__25#entry714867 A cunning plan is evolving from this in my head at the moment, and the next stage is to decide if I lay it out on paper, or do battle with Templot to make it curvey to fit on a slightly shorter board.
  5. According to the Scalescenes web site, it's Staverton, which is a completely non standard one-off, even though it's nice.
  6. In Episode 1 of The Saint, "The Talented Husband" from 1962, the action takes place in Cookham, on the single track branch between Maidenhead and High Wycombe. The ungodly gets on the train at what I'm pretty sure is the real Cookham station, and thunders down a double track main line past upper quadrant signals behind a Black 5, although we see the end of the real Western Region branch train leaving the platform. He changes from his suit into his disguise as the female housekeeper, gets off at the next station, presumably Furze Platt Halt, and goes home to prepare the evil deed. Later in the day, back in disguise, he gets on the train again to go to London. That night he leaves Paddington station behind a BR standard of some sort that magically changes into a Black 5, and returns home.
  7. I know, but they're also the best thing for causing stress I'm thinking of building a small/micro layout that I can run my EM stock, that's been in a box for many years, on. The broad gauge micro layout will take too long to finish, as I need to build more rolling stock and fix loco problems. Just need to fit it in with major work on the house, sorting out my few acres, and trying to make a living!
  8. If there were more local exhibitions it might inspire me to do something, but don't give me any deadlines!
  9. I'm near Newcastle Emlyn, and hope to have a small exhibition layout sometime, but don't hold your breath. I used to do lots of exhibitions, and all my layouts have been built for showing.
  10. I'll I'll second that. Chard would be great.
