  1. still tempted by them there tunnel motors...

  2. Please stick up a picture on here when you complete the project, I'd love to see it!
  3. As I said a couple of pages back Lima 201's are fairly rare, and command high enough prices on Ebay, especially IE orange ones. Mind you, £325 is a tad optimistic, nearer the 250-270 mark is fair game though. They have gone for more than that in the past. I need to find that farmers market that worrals was on about, I'd love to polish a few of them in a project or two. Many people over here have performed major surgery on them. Pretty much all Irish stuff which is sold out by retailers goes for a premium 2nd hand. A lot of money for a crock of crap though in this case!
  4. I think the glossy finish is to represent an 'ex works' finish. Interesting idea, wonder what it looks like in the flesh?
  5. Athough not on EBay, I thought you'd get a kick out of this from an Irish website. Collectors items dont ya know! http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/others/1423356
  6. I just cant see anyone else wanting them. They'd need a large an very expensive overhaul, and with a top speed of 60mph wouldnt suit the likes DRS who need locos rated at 75mph for liner trains and do not need a heavy slogger. HeavyHaul have their 70's with more on the way as well as 66/6's in storage and I dont think Colas would want them either. Most on the list are ones which have thrown a leg out of bed or have other major failures. Take the good bit of these and keep a smaill fleet going would be the best thing to do really.
  7. Latest DB Schenker disposal tender lists 20 tugs up for grabs. http://www.rail.dbschenker.co.uk/disposals/disposals.html
  8. More pics and info (and video) if possible in the overseas modelling thread, it looks very sexy in the seaboard paint. Is it really nice?
  9. And this farmers market is where? Would love a couple at a decent price myself, I was out of the hobby when they came out, then missed them! I'm not willing to pay the high prices for them, after all paying that much for something only then to carry out extensive bashing including new running gear is a bit daunting for a beginner like me. Thank god I managed to stock up on a decent amount of Murphy's 141/181's in the meantime though!
  10. Expect this to go for near enough twice the current price, mabe even more than that. Lima Irish 201's are as rare as rocking horse do do, and are always sought after. Still crap mind.
  11. Nice job John, of a beast of a prototype. I have an old Lima version of the same loco kicking about that I detailed up a bit. I may give it the vitrains treatment one evening to keep me occupied
  12. As I stated in my post: http://nicwhe8.freeh...5705/start.html (Gallery page two, top pic of D5711) Looks like plain green with no wraparound windows to me
  13. Looks like it, would prefer it to have the wraparound ones though.... http://nicwhe8.freehostia.com/d5705/start.html (Gallery page two, top pic of D5711)
  14. Very interesting Peter! Did you get the sound via the Aussie Crossleys? They sound beastly!
  15. That's great to hear D605Eagle, and keep up the good work! Would love to hear a Crossley one day having missed out on the ones here.
  16. I've just ordered two, as delivered green and GSYP non weathered. In fairness to the price its a model with fairly limited appeal, small runs (compared to Hornby etc) and extra expense in tooling up two completely different bogie sideframes etc. Its not that much more than their class 14 which has been done in similar circumstances. Would be happy if a couple of quid from each sale was going towards the restoration of D5705 though (as Heljan have done with one of their Class 15's), it may get the old girl up and running long enough to get the makings of a good sound chip! I take it there is no estimated release date as of yet?
  17. Super news, busy times ahead for Heljan, suprised Hattons dont have it advertised on their home page with a press release... Green non-weathered syp for me. ***EDIT - They have now, and I've ended up ordering two! Oh well.
  18. Thanks for the info guys. I am hoping for the version Rails currently have on order as I've missed out on previous models and was about to purchase a Vi Trains 47 to respray. Hopefully they will go ahead with it.
  19. very nice repaint, are Rails still doing their ltd edition of 47 145? I thought it would be out by now.
  20. First I've seen of this and its very impressive, well done! Good to see there are trains running in Donegal after all!
  21. Hattons now have pictures of the finished 14's on their website under the Heljan diesel section http://www.ehattons.com/stocklist/prodlist.aspx?ManID=27&PrTyID=1&ScID=1
