  1. @coline33 read an article by you Colin in scale model trains or some such mag from back in the day about modelling the 4 wheel cars, very interesting. Thanks to @wainwright1for letting me read it. still not started No1 and depot is lacking much in the way of action, I have had an idea though... Tony
  2. big pockets and no bag, works for me. fold up bag for the swag coming out.
  3. for my £1s worth on the guide, I actually thought it was an improvement on previous years. I must admit I rarely read them until I get home but I do 'collect' them. I have them from Westminster hall, Horticultural hall and Ally Pally, as you can guess I'm a bit of a collector! I realised though that a layout I wanted to go back and see I forgot! Doh. Overall It was a Good Show apart from getting wet, it seemed well attended and I will be back next year hopefully. I have never managed to use the shuttle but as the W3 is a good service and I have an operator pass its fine for me. tony
  4. I went today the layouts looked good and picked up a couple of bargains, a bit of a gripe about getting in though, standing in the rain until after 10 when some created their own queue and pushed in. lack of marshals and security, barriers appeared around 10. It's a pity as it had been quite good for the last few years.
  5. Colin, that is a thing of beauty, lots of little detail there, i note the full door length and cream above the double doors, not something I have noted before to be honest. the cleats and trolley heads are well worth the effort in my opinion. mine are all currently just sitting on the book shelf with the LT tram books, need to do something with them. A look at tram allocation before they all disappear to narrow the ones I can re number them too.. tony
  6. such a great layout, I do still have the RM Articles, I do try to collect tram layout articles when I can. I have photos of the depot layout at Kew I think it was. I am still tramway modelling but it has got a little easier I must admit. tony
  7. hi Colin, at £50 you would have expected better! those ploughs will struggle to get in and out. Tony
  8. funnily enough I used to help out on a privately owned Wurlitzer back in the day.
  9. Ray, I hear you are a dab hand with track soldering... Colin, good to hear you are on the mend mate, plenty of snow! good time for old tram pics of Felthams being pushed back to Telford Ave? Tony
  10. Hi Colin, as a project it's been a bit up and down as you know, I will certainly need to fill the depot up at some point.. Tony
  11. Main track moved from foam board to wooden base. Next job is to construct the depot entrance track fan.
  12. Roster update; #2 re wheeled tender to improve running, now operational again #3 and#4 out of service for cab re builds but running Rail car and rail buses both operational, rail-car total re motored #8 operational #9 operational, chassis rebuild and body strengthening, need some painting to complete #10 in shop work required same as #9 more updates will follow with pictures as and when..
  13. In process of removing back scene, will update in time, also number 9 is now fully working just needs painting. all sidings now wired. will probably remove the hills also and go a bit flatter..
  14. Be nice to bring it home but expect that to be impossible without serious cash
  15. Thanks for the pic, I had heard it had been badly treated.
  16. This is where an index of pictures in books would be useful, I wish I had the time to do it but with near on 50 books now it would be a labour of love. I need to find relevant pics of the above preserved cars in service and now and decide on relevant mods.. I think that will be the next job especial re Felthams, as for the WH102, kit I guess. the Corgi 4 wheeler is enclosed Dick Kerr type I think.
  17. so recap of cars available or could have been.. 102(290), 1, 1025, 355 (2099), 022(106), 526, 331(2168), 1622 (bogies from 517), 159, 1858. missing a Feltham I think?
  18. yes Colin, when I re looked at the pictures I realised that! as you know i'm still a relative novice. I think there may be pics early in the topic but I will photo them, one is Alpha Graphix HR2, one is Tower Enclosed E1 and the other is Corgi LT 4 wheeler but that is over scale to be used as is but... the plan is to motorise it and take the top deck off and use as snow broom or stores car.. I have the motorising kit.
  19. thanks for replying so quickly Colin, honestly I have the felthams an idea about Bluebird and a card HR2, 1x tower E1 just visible in an early pic. the 'project' is not much more than an idea at the moment but think the trams will come together quicker than the layout! 3 Felthams are already motorised but no mods have been done as yet. I need to check photos as I think the plough carriers are in place on 290/102.. tony
  20. Thanks Colin, I like your thinking, 106 it is then, could have 022 as well as a before and after scenario.. all numbers will be easy as they are known preserved or should have been preserved examples, the only real question is what condition to run them in but there is scope for more than one version in that case I guess, as we know 331 for example has had a few guises! The WH is in the transport museum 102 if memory serves. tony
  21. Looking at 5 Felthams including 331, the one in the USA and the scrapped Leeds one. Two E1’s, no.1 and HR2. Not decided about WH and B class 4 wheelers, might keep 106 as 022 snow broom.
