  1. Not sure if that was a planned feature but having ‘soft’ by-pass rather than using a physical switch or signal or sensor could be very handy. I will check if F26 Creep and F27 Brake also work the same. Note that at next decoder update holding F26 on will give continuous creep at the rate set, currently time limited similar to ABC.
  2. Yes Begs the question tho’ what do you want them to do and can they do it. For me that is yes.
  3. The paging issue has been reported. Despite the test team having checked the manual, that slipped past everyone’s noses. The version number is simply a short cut - locally in the app the profiles are numbered v2.0, v2.1, v3.0, etc whereas the full designation say v1.3.0 is generation 1 decoder version 3.0.
  4. Need to see your circuit to comment further about upstream of the PL-13 on-on slider switch.
  5. Note that the manual describes some functionality that will be in the next decoder update due at soon - v3.0. Good that the manual is keeping pace with decoders changes.
  6. In principle whilst not having that extent of trackage I control similar blocks using on track reed switches. These feed into a software program that currently only works with Hornby controllers. Layout operation is by way of simple English scripts with script events triggered by the sensors. More information about the operating software can be found here https://uk.Hornby.com/community/forum/information-about-the-tgg-layout-operating-application-expressions-of-interest-updated-4-nov-370360?ccm_paging_p=5#end-of-replies
  7. Solenoids require a momentary switch. PL-13 is an on-on switch which will burn out your solenoid coils. Unless you are talking about relay coils.
  8. I have a mix of mainly 8 pin but also 21 pin and they work fine. Have you tried refreshing the host in manage devices, as that can affect things, depending upon who thinks they are boss of the mesh. Hornby usually only work office hours but you may get a response on the decoder dedicated support email HM.customercare@Hornby.com
  9. Just buy the DCC ready package from New Modellers shop at a fraction of the price of these aftermarket options.
  10. Try Train-Tech as now marketed by Gaugemaster.
  11. This is a cheap and simple timer, but he does have other devices that could do the task. https://www.bclstore.co.uk/product-page/one-shot-monostable-timer-variable-1-second-to-120-seconds?utm_campaign=1ef42407-cc25-4d1d-ba3c-6d99073c6815&utm_source=so&utm_medium=mail&cid=7c12c33d-01a7-4503-9fa9-51c3e8c6acdc
  12. The basic CV listings are in the comprehensive decoder manual which along with the associated individual loco sound profile function listings can be found in the support document download area of the Hornby site here - https://uk.Hornby.com/hm7000/hm-dcc-guides The complex speed curve suggested settings for reasonable chuff synch will be in the next update of the decoder manual, but here is a heads up screen grab for your info. The tweaking of the complex speed curve for individual locos, which has to be turned on in CV29, was discussed either on here or the Hornby HM7K forum, can’t remember which.
  13. It shouldn’t get hot with the speaker disconnected as the amp is not working into a load.
  14. The important thing is to insulate metalwork, rather than wrap up a decoder in sticky tape.
  15. Doesn’t anyone read these posts or follow other associated forums. There is a known glitch whereby the app is not writing across long addresses correctly. After reloading a profile or performing a reset the long address has to be over typed in the app and a check made of CV17/18 values to see if they accord. If not then write the address from your controller. You will only be using a long address in DCC mode so you must already have a controller.
  16. Just don’t try to claim on the decoder warranty when it goes phutt. The PB charging logic has been adequately explained both here and on the Hornby forum such that use of a home brew stay alive cannot be expected to work correctly with HM7K decoders.
  17. The decoder manual clearly states the PB only connects via its plug as previously pointed out.
  18. You add a picture exactly the same as if it was a regular loco. This is a Jinty with TTS decoder assigned to the 7040 dongle. You can assign any number of regular decoder locos to the dongle.
  19. I use this stuff - super flexible very thin. Various Amazon suppliers at various prices for essential the same 30 awg wire.
  20. It already works Colin. Select Walkabout uses Expressnet link as does the Booster module. There is no update of Select or Elite required. The dongle takes the Bluetooth command from the app, punts it over to the Elite/Select which convert it into plain vanilla DCC and feed it to the track. It works as advertised, just the odd glitch on DCC command timing and synch of icon versus function state to sort out. Nothing that already hasn’t been seen in Railmaster.
  21. If you change that speed curve as shown below you alter the time it takes to get to an applied speed . Red line the loco is good for fine low speed control then races away to a given top speed to return to shed. Blue line gets you up to line speed quicker, but in each case the rate of change between speed steps is per the formula. CV3rate x .896 / speed steps in use.
  22. Any add-on / dongle / call it what you will is limited to what the base controller is capable of. If your controller can only send to 9 functions or limited addressing then an app via a dongle to your controller is also limited to 9 functions or an address range.
  23. I believe you can find RJ to Din adapters.
