  1. It's looking good Andy. Great to see you making full use of the after market goodies. I'm looking forward to seeing the weathering Cheers Tom
  2. Hi, You need to remove a few seats and add the corridor inside, and some handles across the window interior on the corridor side. You can see their position in the pic (they're below the no smoking signs). The doors also need the ribs (in the white stripe) adding. HTH Cheers Tom
  3. The IWA looks promising But the buffers look a bit rushed - lots of mould marks. Is that on the to sort out list? Cheers Tom
  4. Me too Bob, but it seems to be the loco all the rtr and kit manufacturers avoid. I'd have thought it will get looked into soon as the loco types are running out. I've got fond memories of them and they're right up my street for my layout. But we'll have to keep looking at our prototype pics for now Cheers Tom
  5. Back in February 2001 the last running NSE livery ED (73129) waits for the signal at Platform 13 at London Bridge to clear and head off into a night possession somewhere in the South Central suburbs. Cheers Tom
  6. Here's a couple of ED shots. Will this thread inspire a 7mm model of one... Couple from 2007. The GB one is at Barnes, and the NR pair are just outside Sevenoaks. Cheers Tom
  7. Hi Claude, That livery was applied in late 2008. It did some training trips between SL and Brighton in Nov and Dec so perhaps you got it sometime around then? Cheers Tom
  8. There's plenty of good and bad on both HJ and MMP class 47 kits. The modern MMP 47 kit is a vast improvement on the RJH version. However, they're still far enough away from the capturing the look of the real 47 enough. We could do with a happy medium, dear JLTRT or dear HJ please have another go or when I've got some cab drawings hello 3D printer. Cheers Tom
  9. Careful with the SP ones, they're 50% under width. You can file a flat edge on one side of 2 vents and glue together them though to get one corrected sized vent. HTH Cheers Tom
  10. Hi, Thanks, forgotten I'd posted them earlier, my bad memory... Here's a side on pic showing how oblong they are. Here's some shots and dimensions of the dampers. Cheers Tom
  11. Hi, just cottoned onto this thread. It's good to seem people attacking the roe-vacs. For anyone looking at doing more or having a go you can get some scale 3D printed ones. A couple of years ago with permission I measured one of the vents. Lyneux turned it into a 3D model and you can buy them from Shapeways http://www.shapeways.com/model/1005095/roevac-roof-vents-4mm-v1-150-pieces.html?li=search-results-1&materialId=61 Here's a pic of a test print. Cheers Tom
  12. That looks very neatly constructed Ben - really convincing. Cheers Tom
  13. It sure looks like rubber tyres on the bogie's rear wheel sets. Cheers Tom
  14. There is some good attention to detail underneath too. Cheers Tom
  15. The body ripples show to great effect in the pics Pugs. It really does look the part! Cheers Tom
  16. Hi Pete, It's looking very nice. How about a Bratchell 456 (you can buy them in NSE) on the layout too? Bachmann's scenecraft range might have the ticket and permit to travel machines... Cheers Tom
  17. It's almost flush on the real things. I think the way it weathers usually makes it looks far more recessed than it is. But the model's protruding one doesn't help but at least that'll be easier to sort out. Cheers Tom
  18. I guess it'll all depend on how well the market receives them. They're a popular class and could well entice more into O gauge. The model has many nice features and parts done really nicely but still some fundamental flaws too as have been mentioned earlier on the thread, eg the rectangular windscreens and recessed lights (that's what gives it the distinctive angled front). There's plenty of parts that can be enhanced with aftermarket parts but it's always much harder to sort out the key shapes, so lets hope HJ resolve this before the 60 appears on the shelves. When there's such a good 4mm model out there I'd have thought it'd be hard to convert people with a larger more expensive model with issues. But if it sells well then you can imagine 56s being equally popular. Cheers Tom
  19. Thanks Simon, Sorry to be a pain but could you tick the box so I can select them in FUD please? Cheers Tom
  20. Thanks Simon, well keep an eye on your Shapeways account Cheers Tom
