  9. With this wonderful September weather , I took the opportunity to Take my 2 portable layouts Abercynon Fach and Moose Creek out into the garden for a photo session in some wonderful daylight conditions, Quite a few of the locos don,t quite belong at Abercynon Fach ,but it does not really bother me as its my layout ......ha ha. This upload is very photo intensive so i hope you enjoy. Moose Creek ( for those into the Canadian scene is on its own thread. 10. hiThe turntable has a simple handcrank and works fine as long as the tracks are level and spot on in line. It is located on the same board as the scenic section. Hope this answers your question Regards
  11. Just an aside, but if you (BrianR) double click the image you get a better view of the photo and I believe that's the "GLENDOWER" pub at the end of the row.Yes...what an atmospheric shot ,get modelling .
  12. Hi matey I don't know where I have been for the last 3 months ,but have totally missed all this,I can't remember you mentioning this during our harmonica forays, but I have to say it's all looking really good ,can,t wait to see it in the flesh when it's finished,if it's any thing like your previous masterpieces. it's great to read all the expert encouragement from Al,Brian R,Wayne etc, where would we be without their knowledge and observation. I,m glad your not modelling snow ,I'm going to attempt the effect with my latest Canadian B C mini layout quite soon. Meanwhile ,the whitewashed brick building looks really convincing, unusually for you I see you laying the track on a flat base, slightly different to Hendre , Now book marked ,see you soon BrianT.
  13. The twins 10000/10001 have the same pickup arrangement ,and the same problem ( mine anyway ) but I sprayed the bottom of the bogies with servisol contact cleaner and lo and behold ,no stopping and no intermittent sound over points, while it was running , so I let it run in for 20 mins or so as I don't think it's a permanent fix,I just wanted to prove it was the pickups.
  14. sorry very late reply, the 94xx tank is a wills kit on a Bachmann 87xx chassis and sound fittedRegards Brian

Picked up mine from Lord and Butler yesterday as well ,yes.....Heljan have done a lovely job this time, detailing as posted previously is excellent including the etched roof walkway and small fittings and handrails. They are really setting the standards for 1st generation diesels and prototypes Well pleased.
