  1. I think one of each livery is just perfect...
  2. Very good news, perhaps a sound version next...
  3. Absolutely right, I don't... I mean I can't it's all getting silly prices... It's also a pity this industry can't restart like the automotive industry has in the uk...
  4. So they have captured the market and are now saying we will charge you what we like. And now they want the same standard of living as us in the UK, I guess it will all go full circle...
  5. My point on the Coal Hoppers is that a few years ago they were £19.99. I'm sure the tools have paid for themselves by now, nothing new on them apart from a new transfer, can't understand why they have doubled.
  6. It's probably a good job there's not a lot coming out anyway, as it would appear folks can't afford a great deal
  7. Agree, I think a lot of items are pricing themselves out of the market... £36 for a Colas Rail Hopper Wagon.... A decent rake would be £400 plus, gulp...
  8. More disappointment, buy hey ho, wallets happy..
  9. There are many livery opportunities that are available for Bachmann to select from the loco's in the current catalogue which I have mentioned in my email. GBRf have several interesting liveries, the tube maps on 66718 and 721, the Aggregates livery applied to 66711, the imported 66's in blue or grey.... The Colas 70 is now a standard release, which is good news. How about a Class 37 or 57 in the new DRS livery..... Perhaps it's just that they wont sell....
  10. I wrote to the BCC last year and told them as a modern image modeller I had been disappointed with the offerings for my era. The reply was interesting, saying that the Royal Mail Luggage Van, the Royal Sleeper Coach and the Sealink Coach Pack were all aimed at my era, unfortunately I had to agree to disagree on that. There's not been a modern image release for some time unless you class Era 8 as modern image, I did suggest many re-livery opportunities that I'm sure would be of general interest, pleasing a Class 70 in Colas will be a general release so that will keep the cost down. They have promised offerings but IMHO not as yet delivered, however with a Class 90 imminent you never know a nice Club Model will no doubt be up for grabs altho' will not please everyone if you don't model Electric Locomotives.
  11. Thankfully it's back is service now so it's not a problem, unless it goes bang again before the release !!
  12. That's an even better idea, but I think I will push the boat out and buy the four set of driving wheels per loco and leave the middle axle unchanged for the remainder of the fleet. Howes confirmed they are the same size.
  13. I have done eight conversions with the Heljan replacement wheel sets but at £16 it's quite an expensive conversion, I do however appreciate the significant improvement in the running qualities though. My question is, is the four pack for 33's etc the same diameter wheel as the middle wheels on a 47 don't actually pick up so it's almost not worth changing them, and I thought I'd try the four pack at £10.50 as a much cheaper option. Any advice will be appreciated, from the photo on the Howes site the wheels and the gearing look the same.
  14. It's funny, I see it the other way, who would want to buy just two coaches unless there are more as a standard release to come.
  15. I agree, although not my cup of tea, I was surprised they didn't run a set of four....
  16. I know I'm gonna get bashed for this but I have been really dissapointed with the Collectors Clubs offerings for the last twelve months... I just feel that have not considered the modern image D&E modellers at all...
  17. I find this a strange release, but hey ho, it will please somebody....
  18. This was brought up during the time of the last club release, they won't do it due to the flush cab sides and additional cooling panel, even though I'm sure they would sell really well in Colas, not so much in the Green IMHO though, I thought it was a bit drab, although it is most unusual.. A pair of GBRf 20's in the orange livery would be different, one dummy, one powered, there are lots of unusual GB 66's to pick from, the MSC boat one, the rainbow one, one of the tube map one's, or how about 66747, 8 or 9 or 750 in the grey or blue euro liveries would be fine.. . My only negative thought is will they sell though..
  19. Your absolutely right Roy. I think that maybe the issue in the fact that the 85 & Luggage van are still in stock and were released sometime ago. Personally I thought they were poor choices, but that's my opinion (before anyone jumps). They maybe reluctant to release another loco, or maybe waiting for a Class 43 or 158...
  20. It's about time a modern image loco was released. We've not had one for a long time....
  21. Do you have any photo's from your modified chassis for the 92... I would be intrigued to see how easy or difficult it is...
  22. Mine arrived today, fab, had to flick one end of one of the plates off and re-apply some adhesive as it was buldging, but I'm very pleased with it... Considering I'm a modern image modeller it's my third... Takes me back to standing on the steps of Teignmouth Signal Box where my uncle Jim worked...
  23. The Class 66 in Freightliner Shanks was an exclusive model to Kernow Model Centre when it was released, but then a year or so later Bachmann decided to manufacture exactly the same model for the collectors club, except for an anniversary logo on the cab sides......
  24. Anyone done a comparison between the Hornby Midland Mainline coaches and the Lima version in terms of a colour match ?
  25. This is really good news from Bachmann... The model has certainly had a positive facelift. Well done to them..
