It is actually a Power Major introduced in 1958 and only built for two years but still at the rate of 280 per day! It was followed by the last of the E1A s the Super Major which continued in production until July 1964.

No No! At the risk of boring everyone but in the interests of authenticity here goes! Up until 1935 the Fordson N was only available on steel wheels for agricultural use. From 1935 it was offered with the option of pneumatic tyres. It was painted Dark Blue until 1937 when the colour changed to 'Harvest Gold' , light orange to you and me! During 1940 the colour changed to Green to make them less conspicuous to enemy aircraft and the wide wings were replaced with narrow ones to save metal for the war effort. June 1945 saw the last N produced and the new E27N Fordson Major introduced. Sorry to be a pain but we like to have the correct lettering and crests on our locos so why not get the other details right if we can

Excellent.......you just need to watch for the variations that took place over the years so that it matches your time frame. I will be watching closely

Or a load of farmworkers loafing about in the field instead of getting on with some work!! Seems to be a common theme in LM

I always thought the old Airfix now Dapol ones were very good for their time and are still worth a look even if only at the rear of the scene. Far better than most of the cast ones.
  9. Answered my own question! Decoderpro to the rescue!
  10. Hi, Some help needed if possible please. I have a Bachmann MR 1532 Class with firebox flicker that should work on F1 for the red light and F2 for the yellow so that when both on they give a realistic light effect. This loco is fitted with a Zimo 618 decoder. It works fine on a Hornby Elite but on my Gaugemaster Prodigy F1 works but F2 only works if you hold the button down. I have contacted Gaugemaster but their only advice was to re-map F2 button to another one but couldn't say how to do it. I have looked at the Zimo site and whilst it does give information on how to do it it makes little sense to me!!! Can anyone explain in simple language how to do it? Thanks in advance Roger

Think it would be quicker to just take the other one off. No doubt the Pannier driver could oblige!
  14. Bodmin for me as I had the pleasure of doing a fair bit of welding amongst other things on her when first restored at the Mid Hants many years ago.
  15. Thanks for the reply. Built c1890 after the good folks of Shaftesbury got fed up walking to Semley to catch a train! Mind you the new route wasn't much better as it terminated at the bottom of the hill not far from St James.......either that or it converted to a rack and pinion railway!!
  16. Hi, can anyone give me some guidance on signalling the attached track plan for my 1950s/60s S&D layout please. Thanks in anticipation Roger
  17. Any one else had a problem with bits falling off? On my 58072 both the whistle and two of the rear lamp irons have parted company with the body and certainly not due to rough or even careful handling. Close inspection shows they are barely attached.

I am at a loss for words! Two blokes sitting on a bench behind the loco shed, two more yarning over the fence, a gang looking at the shed door and not doing much another gang sat in the back of the lorry reading the paper, not to mention the lot loafing around at the creamery and all the farm workers sat around with nothing to do!!!! What is going on?
