1. Looks nice! Always liked the Dean Sidings kit, as I have 3 of them... least yours has a long lost brother...
2. Model Rail did hint at a P-Class on their Facebook page some time ago... could of been about a year or so ago
3. Would anyone know why some of the USA's are listed as in stock on Olivia's trains? Though Model Rail and Kernow were the only place selling them? http://www.oliviastrains.com/trains/mt/Bachmann-steam/Bachmann-usa-0-6-0-tank/Bachmann-mr-108-9f-92192-br-black-lcrest/ http://www.oliviastrains.com/trains/mt/Bachmann-steam/Bachmann-usa-0-6-0-tank/Bachmann-mr-102-tank-usa-0-6-0t-southern-black/
4. I have also done a small review sadly mostly done at 2am in the morning when I had time, so apologies for any errors.
5. Received mine this morning so 30064 is where it's supposed to be in 4mm scale, sadly won't be on the layout till mid September, but very impressive model and can only echo what others have said, I gave it a quick run before I went out one of the smoothest, quiet running models I have had straight out the box, rather remarkable, well done Model Rail and Bachmann for this well modelled prototype and finally getting to the end of this long wait.
6. Another model that has a small wiring issue with it, easily fixable.
7. Might be because Smoke-box door castings or replacements are a bit difficult to get hold of for any loco model, I had to make my own door in the end for a few models. I would imagine... eventually spares or replacement parts will be available at some point in the future.
8. Called up on Friday to update details and shipping details, ordered mine on the day it was announced, was told shipping either that day or early next week. I would hope they are done in date order as to when the customer orders. That's how general pre-orders worked when I worked for a company. But I am sure they are working as fast as they can.
9. Yes Indeed I have, pretty much added the black line to the rim or outer edge straight after doing the review, took a couple of hours to do it, but improves the look of the wheels.
10. You never know, these models have taken a while no fault of model rail, what I would suggest is to wait and see, when all the orders have been done, you just don't know if some will cancel their orders meaning some may become available, just have to wait and see once they have completed their pre-orders. In a month or so's time wait and see.
11. I also got round to do a small review on my one, again very nice model, well put together, nicely weighted quite a bit heavier than the Oxford version, but plenty of small details be aware of the hand rails very fragile, only small critic of the model is the amount of room for a DCC chip.... not much room at all due to how the bunker is which is pretty much the same as the real thing, where it slops downwards towards the coal door... that's only a small negative and an hour or so can be rectified. I have also added the black outline to the wheels, which improves the look of them some what after the video was done. Sadly with my layout on the mainland still and being far away from it, sadly haven't had the chance to photograph it at it's proper home... Anyway looking forward to the Ex-LSWR coaches. Thanks to De-Rails Liittle Dan, for the model as it was challenging to get it to the Isle of Wight, but super, and good to chat to
12. What they said in March to me was they were almost there, they had a CAD spinning round on a TV screen, saying their design office was a bit of a sticking point but have strengthened that department, they are still on going... might see something end of this year or maybe early next, that's what they said to me in March Ally Pally. Had a 3D print of the H2 Atlantic at the Bluebell model show last weekend
13. Saying they will be manufactured in June, and being shipped, takes a fair while to make these models... sadly not do-able in 14 days, I would expect it will take a month maybe 2 to complete all the variations Model Rail commissioned. I wouldn't expect them to be here till end of Summer.
14. I saw some concern on the colour of the Metropolitan bo-bo the new ones... I quizzed Heljan on Facebook using some photos I took a few years ago, they are saying the images are light but they will be right when the model arrives. They confirmed they 9008 will be the same as it is currently, and the same as my photos.
15. Speaking to Bachmann back in March, H2's and Birdcage stock as mentioned above we will be lucky to see any of these by the end of the year... maybe early next. Talking to the guy on the stand they have strengthened their CAD staff to speed up the progress on the design side. Moving along but quite slowly.
16. Ahh that's a shame was on my way back to home from the Island, if I had known a bit before I would of come along sadly don't have much internet to check the forum that often.
17. Have you tried reading the topic? or tried keeping up to date with developments through the the magazine. There has been a delay, due to a change in manufacture swapping from Dapol to Bachmann which has put it back considerably which has been covered quite a lot. Hence the delay, it was covered on the last page when they are possibly due. Mid to late Summer 2016.
18. Burnished steel think we have been through this before regarding the cab opening and the straps on the pump it is in the condition of pristine if it's too bright weather it down...
19. Shame there's not a replacement etched chassis for this K's kit... no matter what I do it's just not straight

No, they look like etches but are machine produced. They definitely aren't a solid block like the old Cotswold chassis blocks. I'd certainly give them a call. I've always found them very helpful. I've no connection other being a satisfied customer.

That's cool I just had a google of it I see what you mean, I shall give them a call tomorrow, and discuss with them, as it doesn't say it will fit a K's but worth an ask.

Thanks for your help.

I'd recommend some kind of assembly jig to keep things square. Also vital that the rods and axle centres correspond exactly. Gibson do universal coupling rods that can be adapted to your specific coupled wheelbase.

London Road do useful jigs.

20. Think 211 was one of the first O2's to come over in it's LSWR livery, 211 later became Shanklin (w20) Have another image in a book at Wroxall with Rigid 8 stock in tow.
21. On the subject of the birdcage coaches, the Bluebell Railway's Facebook page in response to a former member here name of Adrian Swain, give you a clue he wasn't speaking about the Birdcage stock.. more Kernow items.. But the Bluebell mentioned in a comment, that Bachmann had been to the Bluebell recently to look again at their coaches in regards to underframe detail ect.. so depending on when that was they certainly could be a while...
22. Was expecting the IOW ones to be not so popular, as mentioned there's a few things against them like rolling stock, although there is interest here on the island, sadly those who live on the island are a bit old fashioned so want to see the model run and check it over before purchase, although I know Havenstreet have some models of 24 it's not open at present, spoke to a few visitors in the model shop who didn't even know there was a model of an O2, others want the shop to order it for them, sadly can't do that. But I am not surprised the IOW ones haven't sold as well as the others.
23. I saw one I had not seen pop up on a Facebook group... so I went searching, theres a couple of unseen photos on Model Rail offers page: http://www.modelrailoffers.co.uk/c/1084/Steam-Locomotives
24. Hi all Over the last few months the Captain Baxter 3D prints have been selling rather well, quite a few to Bluebell members, one of which maybe on display in June at the model rail event on the Bluebell. Also doing quite well have been the LBSC perishable goods van. I have had several incomplete 3D models which required a lot of time to finish and get right in order for them to printed. One that had been sitting round the longest was a body shell for the LDCR brake 3rd, or second depending which period your modelling. It has been designed to fit a rtr chassis. I have done a quick test print through a print hub so it's still a little rough. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/Bluebellmodelrailwayshop
25. If you read back through the topic yes... Check the back to backs on the wheels, need to be around 14.5 / 14.4, mine ran perfectly after adjusting this as they were 15mm on both of mine. As the 2 axles are insulated from each other with a plastic joiner in the centre they will require pressing together, and this should fix the problem. Also mentioned it in my review of the model.
