  1. Just one more thing to add to Mike's comments. Brian often has people calling and expecting him to be on the phone for over 30 mins discussing their project or some other general question on railways. Whilst doing this he is not serving others or getting on with running his business. As Mike said he is on his own. He is always very polite and accommodating but (as with any trader),give some consideration to his time when you call, and catch up with him at a show when he usually has some of us helping him. I know he tries to cover everything he can in the limited time he has so please be patient. Thank you for your understanding Pete

  3. Plans are now almost complete for our second DEFine Modellers Day planned for January 2018. Follow this link to our blog for full details. https://definemodellers.wordpress.com/ Pete
  4. For those of you who were not aware, our friend Chris Messer passed away last Wednesday evening after a long illness. Chris was a regular contributor on RMWeb and will be missed by all his friends across the model railway community. I have Just received this from his wife Ellie. The funeral has just been arranged for Monday 17th July at 11.20am at Markeaton Crematorium Derby. There is no need for a black dress code. Many thanks x Pete Degnan
  5. It was widely publicised by the organisers well before the event that these layouts would not be appearing. It should not therefore have been a disappointment on the day. The room they were allocated to was withdrawn by the council at very short notice in order to facilitate the organisation of postal voting for the upcoming election.

Eh, what? You got instructions with yours! Great advice, how far do you go before you get into over extended territory, oh yes, when it falls out . Pete

One other thing, don't extend the opening side flaps too far or the "piston" pops out the cylinder and it a fiddly ###### to get back in! Really impressed though and looks like they can be P4'd without too much trouble Pete
  9. Caroline looking excellent Mick, well done. Looking forward to seeing it soon I hope. Its on my to-do list along with Mentor. The RHTT also looks the business. Is there a definitive article anywhere on how to build this? I have seen various bits and pieces based on the SKits tanks which appear to be discontinued as far as I can make out. Never seen any details at all on the generator. Cheers Pete
  10. Fed up with the Olympics hype already and its still a year away. Another wasted summer, if its not bad enough with golf, tennis and bloody cricket getting in the way of footie. One thing is for sure, no matter how successfull it is, the press will find a fiasco to report (tickets?)... They might as well unfurl a big target over London next summer for all the crackpots to make headlines, I am staying well away. Pete
