  1. Why ? Are you interested in taking out a mortgage
  2. Maybe they're his relatives
  3. Careful the children might be watching
  4. I normally believe that what people spend their money on is their own business but just a while ago I saw someone on E Bay with a feedback of nearly 5000 pay £31 for 2 used Tortoise Point motors. This is more than you can buy them new for Did I miss something here because this to me just defies logic. http://www.ebay.ie/i...984.m1438.l2649
  5. That's not going to happen around here. Did you not realise you were in the presence of greatness
  6. Have to agree with this. Its very easy to describe if what you are selling is a box. In the heading. Bachmann XXXXXXX (Box Only) Very simple & no comebacks from anyone who decides to buy, Describe what you are selling to the best of your ability & as comprehensibly as you can. If you make a mistake then fair enough. We all make them but make it clear in the heading exactly what's for sale.
  7. Now you know why people are very slow to put their work out there. It must be very difficult being that perfect. Maybe there should be a section for "Perfect People Only" Only genius's need apply. Criticism is all very well but it should be constructive.
  8. He must really be having a bad hair day. I might have forgiven his terms & conditions on the grounds that he might have been caught by someone but there's no excuse for that level of rudeness.
  9. Sorry Colin but those bananas don't comply with EU regulations. They should be straight. Health & safety will be after you
  10. I think someone is taking the michael here
  11. If you look at the bidders ratings they appear to be inexperienced E Bayers so they just got caught up in the whole auction thing. It happens but never when I'm selling
  12. Yes a newcomer could easily be swayed by the exhibition implication. It would be a nice little layout for someone. Not sure what its worth though ? £490 ?
  13. Yes you're right. I can understand where you're coming from. You would expect a show layout to be a bit better perhaps but that just opens another tin of worms. Who decided what show quality is ? Maybe if the seller left out the "Show" part in the description it might be better ?
  14. You're not alone. Sometimes I wonder about some of these auction prices ? Yes but who decides what show size should be ?
  15. Might be handy for spares I suppose ?
  16. Tell that to the non professional heating engineer the next time he comes to fix the boiler when you are freezing your butt off in the middle of winter
  17. Another one who doesn't know how to work out postage. £18 postage to Ireland. He's having a laugh
  18. Surprisingly he does sell very well. I'm not suggesting that his items aren't of very good quality because they are but the prices are at the top end of the market & in quite a few instances well over. Its his postage prices which get me. He's even worse than the NRM & that's saying something. I suppose you can't blame him for doing it as he's obviously doing well out of it.
  19. Well its still £20 to here
  20. Same here but you'd be a bigger fool to pay his asking price let alone the postage. I wonder does he see any problem with his listings or does he actually sell anything ?
  21. Stone mad more like it
  22. At £950 he'll be able to afford a crate of whiskey
  23. First one is a bit optimistic. Second one is not to bad if it could be got on the lower end of the price range as there are some nice Pullmans in the set but to rich for me.
  24. Its collecting in a lot of cases. Some people are collectors of certain manufacturers items for various reasons personal or otherwise. Its not all down to the quality of a model. In a lot of cases its down to the history of the models. or they may have a personal involvement in a persons life in some way. These people might never have had a layout. Their interest is purely in the history of a model. Others are involved in Model Railways as just a hobby & some people do a bit of both.
