Depends on the seller I suppose. A seller doesn't need to make a question visible to the public if they don't want to.Some time back a seller was selling some Irish outline stuff but wouldn't accept bids from Ireland (outside UK) I suggested to the seller that they might have better success if they allowed bids from Ireland. The seller didn't respond & relished the items exactly as before. Guess what ? They didn't sell

Modeling canals, any suggestions for the water?

The black fascia panel across the front of the photo is made to come off & was pre shaped before pouring the water. I taped a piece of card across where the water is & then screwed the black panel on to support the card. When the water was dry I took off the panel & removed the card & tape. I then put the black fascia panel back on again. -

I wish you the best in your treatment.Someone close to me had cancer & went through the treatment.She is fine now & completely cured. Even when she lost her hair she refused to wear a wig & used to go out bald headed.She thought of it as a badge of honor. Good luck.

I put a DCC Concepts stay alive decoder in mine.Not ideal with the wiring harness but I will replace it with a direct plug in decoder when they become available.The movement at speed step 1 is reallllllllllllly slow.I nearly fell asleep watching it.

Its not the fluctuation in current its the loss of contact with the track. Any 0-4-0 would suffer the same problem.A bigger loco would have more pickups so the loss of contact on 1 or 2 wheels might not be critical but with an 0-4-0 track contact is vital.

I've fitted OO gauge Ultrascale wheels to mine. I've also widened the B to B because it was so narrow I thought it might fall into the sleepers Easy to fit a decoder to.I wish all loco bodies would come off this easy. Not so easy to change the wheels though.Someone used a bottle of superglue on the brake gear on mine.Nearly had to use a hammer & chisel. Its a sweet runner but clean track is essential.

The Sentinel has a cast chassis block which will hopefully dissipate any heat created.We haven't heard of any heat problems with this model so far but its early days yet.

Thanks for the information. My loco has a 1 mark to show where pin 1 is as well. Edit: Just looked there if I could get one of these decoders but all sold out.

Lubrication problem with Portescap motor/gearboxes

WD40 has its uses but be very careful especially if any kind of plastic is involved. It is good for freeing out seized items but silicon spray is much better for lubrication & is kind to plastics. -
That should be interesting. Are the DCC Concept decoders available as a direct plug in with the stay alive.I though I read on their site that one was planned but I could be mistaken ? EDIT: Had a quick look at the DCC Concepts site & the decoder in question is called DP Series which will have a direct connection for a stay alive.They were aiming for a late June release but I don't think its available yet. Maybe Richard Johnson will be along to clarify ?
