  1. Just been looking at some rather nice pics of a trainset, a Nevard chap sent me

  2. Hi Dave A superb job as normal, looking at the shots, I never thought I would miss the scream of those Valeta turbo's. Gary
  3. Large logo class 37, got to be right, but I think you should put the proper Scottish name on it,OK Bob, sorry Mark. Gary
  4. Spent all this months trainset tokens on building materials, and I now have a bad drinking arm due to DIY

  5. Hi all by popular demand, a few more 37 photos. Please ignore the bit under the bridge, where the creator of the landscape gave up on fishing bits of scenery in to tight spaces. A few of you will notice, that if the signalman’s got a grump on, then the driver will be on a form one for not having the marker or the headlight on. Yes, Mr  Wollaston blue, the layout will make an appearance at Stourbridge show, at the Bonded Warehouse, in 2011, looking forward to it, meanwhile more news on the layout will follow shortly. Gary
  6. Hi all Just caught up with this one, and watched “The videoâ€.  All I can say is “thrash thrash thrashâ€' my lords!!!†Awesome Gary
  7. Hi Nice to hear from you Russ, lucky you, going up to Skye. I was there four weeks ago, and most of the time in a force 6 gale. Now how-about this 37 outside the Talisker distillery, what can I do with photoshop?.The funny thing is, from what I remember, I sketched the original plan out for Glenuig, during a hang over after drinking too much of the produce of Talisker. Dave will sort out some photos of how I did the headlight in the next few days Thanks all Gary
  8. Hi again Thank again all,I think this equates to “fan mailâ€. The photo was taken when I was messing around with the camera after taking photos of the weathering process, (I will post these in the next few week) The lighting effect is just produced by the layout lights, as described earlier on this thread, I just noticed how good it looked so posted it. Just one more for good luck Gary
  9. Â Just a chance photo taken in 1985, while bird watching in the evening sun, on the rocks at Glenuig. Good old Ilford HP5, and a Canon T70. Gary
  10. Hi Thanks for that Scot Just another 37 shotGary as the light fades 37027 Loch Eil runs round last train of the day at Glenuig
  11. Just found my forum reputation is good 69, now how can I change that?

  12. Hi folks As thanks for all your kind comments. Mark, the headlight dose work, I have a series of photos to show how I did it, I will post them shortly. The lamps are turned out of clear plastic rod, I made 6 to get 2 on the locos, the others went ping, in to the depths of the workshop, never to be seen again. Pete I will get some more photos posted, I really must make an effort to post regular updates, and for Artizan, finish Glenuig the movie. Off now, north to the Midland railway centre, to get my large bulk into dirty places on 50007. Gary
  13. The questions a bit late, by the time I read it, I had already been busy with the paint. She just needs a bit of dry brushing and a coat of mat varnish now. Gary 37027 waits for the next duty, while the storm clouds gather over Rum
  14. Hi all Its been quite sometime since my last entry, a good holiday and playing with real trains, has slowed things down. Anyway, after a relaxing brake, which involved going to a place called “Glenuig†wherever that is, I am back at it.I think I said last time that I had a 37, well at long last she's out the paint shop, so a have a  snap BC, (before crap). The one I picked was 37027, Loch Eil, this was one of the first to receive the Eastfeild treatment and just fits in to the time base of the layout. Gary
  15. Hi Mark I am a bit late in commenting on this one. The back scene looks terrific and anyone who thinks the mountains look over the top, has never stood outside the Kings house and looked south. Tested the Kings house out a few times and I must say what a good place for refreshments, real ale and a very obliging stag who poses for photos. Gary
  16. After contemplating all weekend in becoming a duck, now I’m back at work it's stopped raining.

  17. Garsdale 1966, Black 5's, 8F's, 40's, 25's, peaks, and a heavily run a ground ferry? Gary
  18. Hi Sure I saw on this thread, the mention of 156 sprinters, but I must have been mistaken. Once the Caolisport time clock reaches January 1989, the area will be whisked up in to a time vortex, and will land back in 1960. By then, one of the manufacturers will have produce a decent NBL loco!. Gary
  19. Once upon a time in 1990, stood on the platform at Dunblane, in the rain, waiting for the Down internal sleeper to Inverness, when around the corner comes 47835 Bath Roads pet. My mates comments were “I ant doing no twank (twin tank, got it?) in Scotlandâ€. The resulting move, was a wait of nearly 2 hours for a sprinter to Aberdeen for 37101 to Inverness, an arrival in stile!. Gary
  20. Hi Claggy Just catching up on things, after having the post holiday blues (known in the house as “Skyealitusâ€). Reading at the top of the page, I discover the mentioning of, such things as, class 47s on the west highland in the 1980's. Surely this will have the EE bashers crying at Inveraray , you would have them all scarparing back to the George for more refreshments, a brush type four on the next train!, never. (I am resisting the temptation to use derogatory names for the said locos). Can I suggest allocating a pair of 37s or a 37 and a 20, that would be much more expectable. Looking at it, if the train originated at Bristol, it would shift a Bath Road 47 away from any west of England class 50 diagrams. Gary
  21. Leaving Skye tomorrow, I am always sad when I do

  24. HI Of up the other end of the M6-A74 on Saturday, got the camera and a pile of Kodachrome 64, all I need now is some sunshine and the time machine. Ps. The 47 bogie must have been a Sprinfield (edit... I ment Springburn!) Friday afternoon job, too much special brew! Gary
