Found a hard disc that matches the motherboard I'm trying to use. Fortunately it appears to work reasonably well. Time for a fresh install, tomorrow after sleep and work.

STOP error trying to resurrect hardware a decade old to run legacy software. Now I'm stuck :-/

X factor on TV can only mean one thing: guilt free model room pass.
-
This afternoons modelling it going badly. Might give up before I destroy something more valuable.

Has put the most recent purchases in a cupboard: out of sight and trying to not let them distract me further.

I'm not intending to move. You haven't seen the mess I live/work/create in when upstairs! The problem is having decided I might like some sprinters one day I found out that GF had already released them and these things are, more often than not now, buy it now or risk eBay prices in the future. I do like the level of detail though, and if this is the reason there are so many diesel/electric modellers then I can understand why.

email to say my 150/2 has been despatched :-)

Cl150/1 appeared in the post yesterday. Just waiting on a 150/2 to complete this collection. I think I'm at the bottom of the slippery slope :-/

I ordered 10, received 11, broke 4, fed the carpet monster the same, found 2, burnt finger, swore lots and have sore eyes but afetr a few trials and false starts there are 2 soldered in parallel atop a piece of micro tube and 3 spare so I win, I think: I have to see if they fit in the body of the signal when the next part is finished.

It's a very slippery slope. Today, in between watching Olympics and doing chores I've been scouring the Internet for reasonably priced 150s. :-/

Never thought that I'd go to the dark side with those wheeled boxes, but have today succumbed to a Dapol 156.

One day, a long way away, it might have a diorama to run on, but it will need a motor first because it's a dummy unit. Aside from the TV adverts featuring 125s they are my memory of rail transport from my childhood. I've bought one while I can get still get one at RRP rather than the inflated prices of eBay in the future.

Been to the Olympics this morning. Just catching up on the cycling action from this afternoon.

Finished some wagons \o/

my mpg for this tank is 48.6mpg as if anyone cares ;-)

not looking forward to this hospital appointment. Might go shopping for something out of the ordinary afterwards, if I can still see, to cheer myself up!

Really really enjoyed visiting Didcot today with other RMweb members. That SRM is stunning.
-
Made further progress on Mathieson wagons yesterday. Not what I planned to do, but productive nonetheless.
-
Lapped up the exceptionally well themed MI4.
-
Been shopping: A pair of calipers for my lathe, two Dapol Halls that were on sale in the local model shop and a Ratio signal box interior.
-
Two and a half hours milling grafar pannier bodies so far. First stage nearing completion.
-
Yup. It took me about an hour to take out the material for the motor to fit, going steady. The first of two bodies has now lost most of it's footplate. Just the second one to finish off and then back to their owner for finishing. I've taken some pictures, but I'm going to let him write things up showing the whole process.

turns out you can cut up to 0.020" plasticard in a staples A3 guillotine as long as the wife doesn't find out.
