    An Alco engined 45.........????
  4. Pretty sure that Dave Upton who used to produce an online magazine for the 3 rail enthusiast called just the ticket is taking over the HRCA Journal so if his efforts on just the ticket are anything to go by it should be a good read, I went to a HRCA meet last year very welcoming and a good afternoon very friendly knowledgeable people would recommend the association!...
  5. I am amazed that not that many people know about the modern stuff like Ace, darstaed,WJ Vintage, to name a few even down my local club it seems if it isn't "mainstream" the news doesn't seem to get out! Even in the Guild Gazette articles are few and far between I think the last article I saw in print was on Roy James dream city Railway.Would be nice to see more modern tinplate at exhibitions hopefully would get more people interested in it ! By the way that Jinty looks superb in SDJR Blue!..
  6. Thanks for the info Bri only saw the 95ers working the brickyard opposite canton ,ferry road would make a cracking model though !..
  7. I remember that the blue wagon works was visited by an 08 I saw it once or twice descending the bank from the branch over the road and then either taking or bringing wagons out of the works pretty sure it also worked the Esso tanks on and off the branch, never saw anything" mainline" on the branch wonder if anything did get down there ?
  8. Wasnt there a large wagon repair works there as well ? big blue place that eventually became british car auctions and there were warehouses alongside the road further up that sometimes had wagons delivered remember the peckett shunting the vans alongside them one day, and if you were cycling along the road you always had to keep a listen out for any of the Esso atctics coming under the bridge by the red house they didnt take any prisoners !also remember the gas works had a yellow planet loco only seen it working once when it ventured outside the gates!wonder what happened to that?
  9. there must have been something about Engine drivers living in our streets Bri the shunter/driver at ferry road warehouses lived two doors up from me so there was always a cab ride on the peckett when I visited !!!..happy days and thanks for the picture of the council Loco first one I have seen !
