    just chipped my 08 with lenz silver chip lights one end cab lights okay only top light other end so going back monday!!!! still superb loco for money tho!!!!

Great modelling chris ,you just need a model of a poor squaddie on the roof putting wood down the chimney to try and get some more heat out of the stove on a freezing winter night !!!!......we used to have the stove glowing red but it was still freezing in that hut under them army blankets! any luck finding an 0 gauge RL yet?
  5. Thanks for the heads up I have 3 rail Ace/Darstaed in my shed (love to run them) will watch out I don't get some 3 rail American stuff by mistake tho! at my age anything is possible , in the meantime will have to put down a test track to run the 2 rail stuff when it arrives......

  7. Are those outside framed boxcars still available? I know stuff is done in limited runs these days and just restarting out in American 0 gauge from H0 my knowledge is limited,also are there any traders in the UK that sell american 0 gauge models.

  11. Lots of Bedford RLs about the place then ...great project for a bit of military modelling as well ! as an aside my RL fitter truck could easily go off the clock (speedo) on the motorway very handy when on your way back from exercise!!!

  14. Wonder how long they will be moving coal? it seems a dying industry over here with the rush to green energy,and with CSX closing some of its coal branches over there it seems coal is in serious decline.take pics while they are still running.

  16. Evening all just doing a bit of research into Coity goods yard does anyone know when the branch off the VoG closed ? and was it worked off the Maesteg line as well as the vale line ,cant seem to find any photos of it either, any help appreciated!
  17. On the subject of loco,s ACE trains have released an M7 and are also producing a Duke of Gloucester and Evening Star as well as a GWR Prairie! Looks like a boom time for Tinplate trains!! and a lean time for my wallet!!!!

Yes, just had my newsletter from WJ Vintage and there is a statement from the owner of Darstaed and he has stated that the UK distribution side is now closed, but that he is now fulfilling orders from the Netherlands and its business as usual. hope it doesn't disappear as they make some decent models and they are the company that got me into 3 rail in the first place !....
  22. Have recently heard that darstaed have stopped production don't have any more info at the moment ,but on a positive note ACE Trains are going to produce a Warship now that it seems darstaed have packed it in !....
