  1. Just picked mine up from Crafty Hobbies in Barrow. Here she is posing on Parrot Hall under the wires - John has two of the blue and two IC ones left if anyone is still after one. Looks good so far, and the roof is the same on both versions apart from the pans. Now to take it to bits and see how easy sound fitting is! Kev.
  2. Well I'm quite pleased with how the 304 is coming along! Its now at the 'target' stage, with anything that can effect the running fitted. Still to do is reducing the tension of the pan spring, then I can now take it with me on Coppells trip to Oustende for a test run. It has run on Loch Dour. I have just realised I've posed it in the wrong coach order! DOH! Kev.
  3. Not pictured on Parrot Hall, but - The bogies for the 3 car 304, left and 4 car 305, right. Go on then, who knew they were different. I didn't! Kev.
  4. Well there were some discussions with Guy from DEMU showcase Will. Watch this space! Kev.
  5. An extension is not on the cards Wayne, it was always planed to act as a terminus. The Sturgeon uses the supplied door bangers, as you say, sticking brass to plastic invites 'drop offs'! I'm planning one without doors next. Kev.
  6. Thanks Wayne, welcome to the thread. Speaking of Lydd Rail, many thanks to Paul and the rest of the guys for a great weekend. And especially to Nick from Coastal DCC, who spent a lot of the weekend filming and editing a video of Parrot Hall - The layout ran well considering it hasn't run for 18 months, and only had one derailment, caused by not using the locating pins on the sector! Cheers to all, Kev.
  7. It has been a known issue since the last update, but it has mainly been with later versions of ios. I also run a 4s and a slightly newer(and older) I-pod(s) and have avoided it so far! If you have a back up on your computer, or another device, you should be able to re-install. hth, kev.
  8. Cheers Mark, you may also have noticed that both units will be eminently suitable for Coppell use too! Kev.
  9. After some letter correspondence with Dave Lewis at Southern Pride Models, I'm very happy to announce that I'm now the proud owner of a 304/2 kit. I had just about given up on one of these after Dc kits stopped doing kits, and the SPM website always said unavailable! While I was at it, I also slipped and ordered a 305/2 as well!!!! The 304 to be finished in reggie rail stripes and the 305 in GMPTE colours. Next payday I'll order a couple of Replica chassis. Kev.

  11. With only a month to go before Parrot Hall makes its long trip to the deepest darkest, sorry the sunny south, (as long as work dont b****r it up!) a few small jobs have been done, firstly trees, small ones - Crash barriers, a skip, plus some car parking - More cars have been aquired and detailed as needed. None of these will be fixed down as they will vary with the period the layout is running in. And by the Duck some badly stacked picnic tables and another skip - I did order some beer kegs/barrels too, but they haven't shown up yet! An awful lot of fine detailing still needs to be done, but there are now no 'bare bits' so now I need to think about which stock to take and give the layout a good clean!
  12. Don't know how true this is, but apparently the replacement bus service was cancelled today, due to a shortage of bus drivers. You couldn't make this stuff up!!! Kev.
  13. I can't remember which way round it is for sure, but one, the Lowlander(?) stops at Preston, the other, the Highlander(?) stops at Carlisle. But it may be pick up only! Kev.
  14. It may not be if you do the sleeper to Carlisle, valid north of Barrow on the coast all day I believe, might be worth a check! Kev.
  15. My phone and later I-pod are Mike, the older I-pod is still running the Jens era TC.
  16. It only seems to be an issue with devices running more up to date IOS software. My old i-phone 4s and I-pods are all swapping configs fine! Kev.

    Loch Dour

West Highland cleared as far as Glen Douglas for the big stuff ISTR Andy (for the MOD?) . As my 'line' turns off right at that point, why not! lol. Kev.

    Loch Dour

It would have been a bit of a trek for you to be sure Module, as for the weather! Good show though, and very friendly crowd. Loch Dour was obviously not impressed with being made to leave the house it would seem. A loose wire on Friday night, a sticky signal on Saturday and a Peco point blade giving way on Sunday! Luckly in the fiddle yard and soon 'bodged'. Other than those issues the stock all performed, apart from 'biggies' 40 032 and 47 461 which wouldn't go round corners! The spoon is fixed (snowplough's) but the 40 may just be too big! All is now set back up at home with the 80's fleet having a run out for a while. Kev.

    Loch Dour

First day down at Perth Green. All worked apart from a sticky signal! The 70's are now over, back to the 80's tomorrow with tractors. Kev.

Ha, we dont talk about DRS's 37 405 Mark. Not after it left us stuck at Ravenglass for 2 1/2 hours last week. Good job the pub was open!! Kev.

    Loch Dour

Well Loch Dour is all packed up and ready for its trip to Perth Green show next weekend, 17/18th March. Whats new since it was last out? 37 405 and 425 have been added to the fleet, plus the 'new' 37 401. Three more mk2's have also been added to the 80's fleet. The only addition to the 70's fleet is the 105 unit, plus a few new sound programs. Kev.
  22. I seem to remember that the BWHS's on the 92's have longer than standard arms to cope with the higher O/H wires in the channel tunnel. Of course I have been wrong before! Kev.
