  1. I was wondering if there is an index available for BRM? I have the complete digital back catalogue and would love to be able to find reviews or refer to "how to's"
  2. Brilliant easier to model than a ballcock affair or sight glass. Thanks everyone
  3. Hi, I am building the Watertower to stand by the Engine Shed at Llanfyllin. This is the best photo I have. Could you help me, what is the item to the right of the ladder platform? I originally thought it was a Sight Glass, but, on closer inspection I think it is a ball on a chain, could it e attached to some kind of ballcock within the tank to keep it topped up?
  4. Only the headshunt was removed, so so there was still a double line running through the bridge. Anything coming off the trap would be derailed into the bridge
  5. Yes, there is one in the Station on the Engine Release Crossover
  6. I've been looking through photos of LLANFYLLIN and have just noticed a small ground signal at the base of the Advanced Main Starter. Looking at the track I think there is a trap or catch point? The line resorts yo single line beyond the bridge and the SLS Signal Diagram shows a turnout on the main line operated by Ground Frame, it also shows a trap/catch point beyond the bridge Would this Ground Signal and Trap point be connected yo the ground Frame?
  7. Thanks Harlequin, Prodigy Express arrived today, the 14xx works a treat. Select going on E Bay
  8. Thanks for your help, following your instructions after I reset CV8 to 8, the loco hisses for a few seconds, then nothing when i press 1 or drive loco
  9. Thanks, If I reset the Select CV8 to 8 then the loco gives a click and then a hiss of steam, and although it will drive off in either fwd or rev I don't get any other sound. The problem is I dont understand what I am doing. When I press a number then Function I either get Of or On, but, even when it says On I have nothing
  10. I bought one a while ago and now have had my Hornby Select Firmware updated. I had a problem getting any sound, I was told reset Decoder by setting CV8 to 8. This now gives me some sound. Has anyone got a list of the sound functions of a 14-58xx
  11. Had a reply from Hattons telling me to reset CV8 to 8, which rreset the decoder and now have sound. Sadly no list of functions
  12. Thanks, It doesnt do anything when I press 1 and F so I suspect something must be amiss somewhere
  13. Thanks it is a Hattons 14XX DJM I think, Ive sent them a message hoping it was originally bought from them with the sound fitted.Ive tried looking at the decoder but, it is firmly wedged in the boiler and I dont want to use anythig to grab it. I think the problem is more with the Select controller or more likely the way I am using it. Ive tried following the instructions but sound does not seem to want to work.
  14. I have recently upgraded the Hornby Select to V1.6, Th controller works well driving loco forward and back, but. I am struggling to grasp the principles of functions and Sound. I have a Sound fitted 14xx, but, have no list of functions to go with it. Pressing a number between 10 and 29 and then the function button I have had a couple of sounds, a bell and also a woosh of steam, but, that was it. Now no sounds. What am I doing wrong, Im completely new to DCC
  15. I have a pre owned Bachmann 64XX 31-636A. All screws are screwed in completely, but, the coal load is loose and moves. I have undone the screw under the bunker but, the lead stay the same and although loose will not come out. Is there a way to secure it? I don't want to hlue it as I may need to be able to access it to fit a speaker
  16. I have built a lever frame and I am not sure the position of the levers in relation to: A. GWR Signal set at danger, (signal pulled off?) B. Turnouts, do you pull the lever to set the way, otherwise its a straight road? Thanks
  17. Love that, they must have the wheel sets ready quartered and positioned carefully to be bake to just roll them into position
  18. I'm modelling Llanfyllin in 30's, I am trying to find out where the TOAD Brake Vans would have been allocated from. The only reference to Oswestry named Van's is in the 40's.
  19. Thats the name of the guy who part built my first coach, as a demo for me. Thanks
  20. I haven't seen the reference in the Comet Instructions. I'm working on the underframe at the moment
  21. Hi, basically a letter A has been written on the inside of one end and a Letter B written at the other end. There was an important reason about 6-7 years ago when I bought them, but, can't remember it. I can understand if the ends were identical, but,its obvious which is the brake end.
  22. I am finally getting round to starting my second E147, my two kits were bought a few years ago with one being part built professionally. For some personal reasons I had to stop modelling for about 6 or 7 years. I've now almost completed the first one and completed the hinges droplights etc on the second. The first has the ends marked A & B and I cant remembervwhy it is done, it's not in building coaches the comet way. Has anyone any ideas?
