  1. Hi all, had a letter from Hornby stating that they were not able to repair my loco, and that they were giving me a £125 voucher for use on their website. On checking their site, I founnd that to replace my loco would cost £150!. This, i felt, was not right, so last Friday I sent an e-mail to Tanya stating that I had found the same loco (3044X) from other suppliers for between £120 and £130. I suggested that they should just send me the loco (3044x) as a direct replacement. Had no reply, so called Hornby yesterday, but the boss wasn't available to make a decision, and was told that he would call next Monday. Anyway.....got a call this morning from Tanya........They are going to send me the Network rail version (3044) as a replacement....Woohoo! Come on postie...where's my loco. P.S. I had a choice of the Network rail or the green version.

  4. Hi, all.....I too have fallen foul of the dreaded Class 31 rot. Bought the Dutch version from Pecorama about 3 weeks ago (New), went to pet a decoder in it, and noticed the buffers drooping, tried to straighten them ,and the whole lot snapped off. I tried a repair, but more and more bits kept snapping off as I tried to fix it. Please note that I was on holiday when I purchased the loco, and that I live about 150 miles from Seaton so a return was not possible. Then, just as I thought I was winning, the other end snapped off! I was more successful with the other end, using 2mm square brass - bent to an L shape and superglued. Then I found out about the rot and e-mailed Hornby. I got a reply a couple of days later, telling me to post the loco to Hornby and they will replace the chassis......when they get one. I sent it on Friday (31/08/12), so will just have to wait and see what happens. TTFN. Mick
  5. Hi, Saw your layout at Railex (Stoke Mandeville) and all I could think was WOW! Fantastic layout and your engines run soooo smoothly. I will have a look back at your posts, to see if you explain how you make your engines run so well. Best wishes Mick.
  6. Thanks for the info. I have tried Evo stick and it does indeed melt the plastic! Regards Mick
  7. Fantastic track, Great walls! Can I just ask what glue you used to attach the plasticard to the wood? Regards Mick
