  1. Added some trackside 'clutter' - Axle counters, track circuit boxes, TPWS grids (need to get some orange pipework done for these) UTX access points, S&T boxes and Relay cabin, Max speed, Limited clearance, Sandite App. and AWS commencement signs.
  2. Thanks for the comments chaps. I'll keep adding every time I manage to finish something. Lineside equipment and Station overoof on my plate at the mo. Dave K
  3. Thanks 66, Andi. Can't have too much knitting. Dagworth, definately a source of inspiration, not to mention Ravensclyffe. Dave K
  4. Many thanks chaps. Still a lot of tidying & tarting to be done though..not to mention the other 50% still to come Dave K.
  5. Finally got round to building that Feeder station I asked you about too. Just need to paint it, fix it in place and wire it up now.
  6. Thanks Dave/Clive. Your old site Clive and the new stuff you have on the OHLE forum has been a lot of help. Dave K
  7. Thankyou Karl & Ragtag. I will put on a few more pics of some of the OHLE gantries that I've yet to put on the layout. The gantries (Portals) and headspans are mainly brass, soldered. I use H-section columns and c-section for the gantry legs and cross-pieces ans 30 thou brass wire for the registration arms.
  8. Thanks, big overall roof to go on yet though, and ole gantries to be wired up.
  9. My modern image layout is about half complete. OHLE seems to take an age to build, but hopefully worth it. Ive added a few pics below. Took me about a year to make the garage that it's in habitable, but I'm now finally able to build the layout. Dave

    Hornby P2

Cleared up to my satisfaction now, yes blubottle. Seemed to have rattled your cage for some reason though, Mr.McLeod?? Not allowed to make a reasonable comment or ask about something I wasn't aware of, anymore, without having pseudo-sarcasm heaped upon me?? Dear oh dear!

    Hornby P2

No I haven't. I just noticed this thread in passing, after seeing the 9F's on the Rails site and thought I'd inquire. I take it then, from your comment, that the CoTN model will be a real P2!

    Hornby P2

Always under the impression that Cock O' the North was a P2, then an A2/2, same as Wolf of B and Mons Meg...etc??? 9F....nonesense!!! Hornby cutting corners again, or is there a real P2 model planned for release???

    Heljan Class 16

They used to do that...rotten s..ds! Dave K
  15. 2nd year i've been trying to grow these. Planted some in Spring, like last year, in trays in green house. They grew to about 1 inch, went red and snuffed it; just like last year. So gave them one last go in mid June. Got some seeds - suttons I think, and just scattered them on the garden soil. One watering to germinate and then I left them to their fate. Wow!!! They've grown to 3 inches already and look very healthy. I think over watering and over-faffing is no good for them. Sow,(preferably outside, if the weather allows) water once and forget! That seems to be the way. Think this heatwave is helping too. Amazing! Dave K
  16. Very nice scenery of a place I know very well. Dave K
  17. From what I have read on the Youtube site, it is little wonder Terry is doing what he's doing. Such a tragedy puts railway modelling in perspective. Even though, in my opinion, it's the best hobby, it is after all, just a hobby. Very sorry to see you leaving, as you were up there with the best of them for modelling skill and fantastic, inspiring videos. My condolences to you and your family. Dave K
  18. Simply a Work of Art. Fantastic!! Dave K
  19. Very nice layout. . Track weathering is spot on! OLE masts are very good. Im scratchbuilding some myself, but the modern variety. Dave K
  20. Top job! Have enjoyed reading your threads. Might have inspired me to convert my Red Hornby Metro 155 into the latest Blue liveried, Northern version, but will need to do something with the Hornby under-frame detail 'block'. Dave K
