  1. The Lounge, thats HER domain do you think I would dare to venture into or even think about going there with railway stuff I got the 3rd bedroom on the basis of railway items were banished from the downstairs. Unda T' Fumm
  2. I've a 17'x 9' double track roundy in the garage, a man cave in the 3rd bedroom SWMBO would hit the roof if something large turned up at the front door labelled railway. Now if you said you had a Darjeeling Railway layout with a couple of D2 loco's and some rolling stock I would be interested. Mr T Rain Whalla
  3. I mentioned that my birthday was soon to SWMBO she cut straight back "haven't you choose or bought something yet that a first" my mind wandered to the Bristolian set do I need a 4th King no, do I need more brake and composite coaches at the moment no so that idea has gone out of the window I think I will settle for a few cans of spray paint to paint the roofs on the new coaches or maybe some nice Parkside kits or some LNER coaches for a through service I'm not sure, but I know want the money is burning a hole in my pocket.
  4. £5.25 for 100mls hopefully with careful use it should go a long way but the FY won't be done as per ANTB now.
  5. Sunday I will be meeting Grandad Bob at 10am just across the road from the carpark, beware both of us will be with our respective SWMBO's Mike we have been attending this show for some years now and the only thing HER has suggested buying is the bl00dy tea's so I don't hold out much chance of buying something for myself, from memory I managed to buy a shunters truck and that was when she was not looking.
  6. I had good sense to buy 2 more all 3rd than I needed just in case, that set might be worth while for my birthday but SWMBO would hit the roof at that price, I can only wait and see how nice she is to me when we visit Steam Swindon show next week see might be a bit more generous in front of friends.
  7. I see a demo of Deluxe Materials "Ballast Bond" at their show stand and was impressed, I only hope it I can make it work that well and doesn't make any mess like diluted PVA.
  8. Rob I would wait a while those train packs rarely fly off the shelves just keep an eye out for stock levels dwindling . £240 at the box shifters at the moment.
  9. I do like what you have done to the churns I've a 100 to do and as for 6 wheeled Siphons I was luck to pick up 2 well made one's for £6 at a show they just needed coupling to match my stock, they run a treat placed anywhere in a train which is not always the case there's been few on fleebay of late looks as if someone is shifting a collection.
  10. Hi John I get more pleasure out of building the layout and rolling stock than I do running trains, around try telling SWMBO that, I'm looking forward to more photo's don't forget your FY. BTW I do like your track. EDIT Your last post came in just before this one, I do run kit built coaches (plastic/brass/Hornby tart ups) and it's very noticeable I'm replacing mine which is something I didn't expect to do when the roofs get painted so it's all the same colour.
  11. There may be trouble ahead.
  12. Why don't you get the Oven Clean Company in when the Boss is at work ? saves burning your arms and banging your head.
  13. It doesn't look like it in my opinion with that uneven gap around the number plate, Hattons said they would address the problem, in that case that photo looks like it's not one of the finished products. Simples. Lets hope they are not happy with those plates I for one would not part with cash for model in that condition. .
  14. Can we have a photo of correctly fitted number plates so we can get a better idea of what the finished product will look like?.
  15. It took a while for the small one to grow on me so to speak, I think something mid way would be OK as the original size does look little lost on tanks and tender sides and certainly yellow with a red background to the letters would or could have looked good as gold disappears when it's on a green background.
  16. That's a really nice Prairie always turned out in good condition I rode behind her at the WSR gala I think, shame about those monograms they're far too big but looks far better than London Transport red.
  17. Glad you had a good time in Devon it's shame about that railway but the line so commercialised the coaches must be bare of fittings for that very reason so many yobs must use it and they don't want to keep spending money on coach stock replacing bits and pieces it's become no more than a seaside attraction now instead of a heritage railway.
  18. Hi John Nice to see a sensible jumbled up rake of GWR coaches, those new Collett's are excellent but I will be changing the tiny shell roof vents when they go through the weathering shop they are a tad on the small side.
