  1. What medication are you on Phil ??? I could do with a pick-me-up.
  2. Here's a few of my Hornby jobbies renumbered and waiting for weathering, T.V.G. used to shift about 100 tons of granite weekly out by rail in olden days.
  3. With big open cabs like Kings the pipe work and controls look good when picked out with brass and red and a blob of white on the dials.
  4. I found their on-line/postal service very good, I've several boxes of their L/E Bachmann cattle vans now rattling around the layout.
  5. You could always turn a pair of bifocals upside down and Ducky tape them to your ears. BTW Is Stubb's supplying some of his excellent Jacksey's for the station ?.
  6. Don't waste your time it's full of the usual dross and whingers, a lick of dark wash would soon tone the orangey effect down.
  7. Bought one when they first came out biggest pile of #hit I ever purchased motor burnt out first time it was used so everything inside the body got bined and a jolly little K's chassis went in the thing ran for years like that until Bachmann bought their one out them the rest of it followed the Lima chassis, the K's chassis is being prepped to go into a Bachy Body with smaller wheels for a 44xx, modelling is such fun.
  8. The legs and baffles are Scalelink parts as the original legs were broken, the wire is a good idea but the new legs are solid so I use tacky wax to keep thing on the platform in place such as barrows, trolleys, luggage seats and the like and can move items around from time to time. Like you I think I will start posting the layout again when begins to look like something I would hate to present a messy layout I've altered it so much of late, ballast and point rodding to go down and some buildings and bridges to finish after a ladder fell onto the layout.
  9. This is my effort with a S/H part built kit bought for £4.50 at a show + £8 for the new legs and smoke baffles. I cut it down quiet a bit from the marks for platform mounting on the kit the legs need tweeking and the baffles fitted.
  10. "Its The Dogs", it's under new management and very well run, I would recommend it anytime ask for a room overlooking the garden if they have one free but they are all nice, the food is good the menu is a bit small but everything was nicely cooked they have some good beers sorry no saffron cakes and it's a 5 -10 min walk to Staverton Station, SWMBO likes shopping in Totnes so you don't have to take the car and can have a good drink through the day plenty of nice places to have lunch. If you do decide to book avoid the hotels/bookings.com sites and phone them direct it's cheaper. enjoy your stay.
  11. The wagon bible has the V9 & V11 as 10 tons.tare 9-10.
  12. I was at Staverton Station on the SDR last week when this ran through. Shame about the tatty coaches behind.
  13. Just back from a break in South Hams we stopped off in Somerset for a few days on the way back, I found these fine looking wagons at Cranmore you might like to model . Both carrying sausages on the sides.( don't tell CK)
  14. They don't fly the week end before the show as respect for the locals, I believe some complaints went into the local council about the amount of noise Tuesday and Wednesday flying was kept to a minimum Thursday & Friday the planes were flying higher and there were less of the noisy stuff up.
  15. Good luck Ducky don't forget to bite the pillow when that BIG needle goes in your @rse. Mr R.E.C.Tum
  16. Ordered Sunday got it today (Thursday), some there needs to learn what a 48Hr service means.
  17. I've bought Comet sides for those coaches to go on the old Collett's, as Hornby are in the poo at the moment I can't see any new coaches from that direction but I have been proved wrong.
