  1. An excellent footbridge (superb modelling) and a nice model of Bodmin Road (now Parkway). Any more pictures (on both topics), just love everything to do with the stations in Cornwall.
  2. Nice to hear from you Terry, we do try to get to the Stafford show most years (although it's not always easy to do). Porth Merryn will hopefully be making its exhibition debut on the 10th & 11th of February next year at the Bournemouth model railway exhibition (Dad wants to get the initial show under his belt before making more plans). But after the show I might be sending you a PM for consideration for your show. Regards Nigel
  3. I like the new arrivals, especially the Crane (finnishes of the dockside nicely). Look forward to a visit sometime.
  4. Spent a pleasant couple of hours at Mum and Dad's today. Filmed a couple of train movements
  5. Saw this earlier this morning, had x7 mk3's (x4 sleepers), would have been through Castle Cary at 02:02
  6. The platforms/scenic work is looking great. If you ever decide to turn the clock back to 1989/1990, Class 33 and 8TC's (x2 4TC) were used on the Weymouth to Bristol TM (through Castle Cary) on summer Saturdays. Keep up the good work.
  7. Hi Bill, Just been catching up with your thread, it sounds like you had "a lot on your plate at the weekend", well done for taking it in your stride. I am sure that you will pick up some more invites at your forcomming exhibitions, Penhallick is a quality layout. It is nice to see the contemporary scene modelled in such away. I bet you are looking forward to the Tiphook blue clay tigers when the come next year. Regards Nigel
  8. Hi, Had a nice evening at Eastleigh with fellow likeminded Rmwebbers:- Hampshire Hog, Paul Rhb, Pitbull1845 and Arnington (watching trains and nosh at Wetherspoons). Saw this combination on its way to Woking and then again on its way to Lymington Pier.
  9. Charlotte and Stella today were in the area Starting at Reading then onto Salisbury then on the single line to Exeter and New Yard. Then of to Westbury and back to Salisbury. Thought you might be interested
  10. Hi Scoobyra The FGW 150 looks very nice, but I must say that I am intrigued how you are going to repaint a 158 in Local lines livery? (have you got an ace up your sleeve). Regards Nigel
  11. A work of Art on that station, top draw modelling. You must be very pleased with your efforts.
  12. Hi I was on a Castle Cary job today (out via Pen Mill and back via Westbury), taking loads of festival types. I have never seen Castle Cary so busy. A stand in the car park selling ice cold Cider, did catch my eye. There was also x3 double decker buses in the car park for onward travel to Glastonbury. In Westbury up yard I saw 37025 Inverness TMD (Large Logo) with a Network Rail Test Train of x3 ex mk2's aircons and a DBSO and then coming from the Salisbury direction Colas 70810 with x10 welded rail wagons and x5 Autoballasters. Thought you might be interested.
  13. I'm sorry to hear that your repaint of your mk2's didn't go as planned, I have had a similar drama as I wanted to paint some aircon mk2's to create the Arriva Trains Wales set to go with my 57 (just wasn't very happy with the stripes on the finished item). At times there is nothing more frustrating than model railways, you spend lots of effort and time into a project and feel short changed when it does not turn out how you wanted. Next time I'll listen to the wife and cut the grass or do some ironing. On the positive side for you, the layout looks stunning. Your attention to detail and ability to recreate In model form the observations of today's railway is very top draw (I am really jealous).
  14. Could you re-use any of your fantastic buildings that you saved when you dismantled Ring Road (may save some time and expense).
  15. Hi David, It's great to have you back on Rmweb. Your layouts are always exceptional, I look forward to seeing this one progress over time. Hope all is going well with your PhD. Regards Nigel
  16. A Paddington bound FGW HST pass through Loftus Road (diverted due to weekend engineering work)
  17. It was great to see "The Sidings" for the first time today at DEMU showcase. Great to catch up with Nick, John & Geoff I took some pictures with my iphone, I'm sorry that they won't be up to "Digital" (john's) standard, but I had to take some pictures of this lovely little layout.
  18. Hope you have a good weekend at Chatham.
  19. Even though steam is not my thing, I must admit that I am following with much interest. Superb workmanship in every way.
  20. I had a quick visit to Leaford this afternoon, was very much looking forward to seeing Molly J as a waterline model
  21. I watched this layout at the Cheltenham ex last month, its nice to see full length FGW HST's running.
  22. My father purchased a DCC sound version of these locos from Hattons. The first was returned due to poor running qualities. He is now on the second which seems to run okay until he puts the sound on then it runs not to well at all. He is using an NCE Powercab controller. Is anyone else using the same controller and having similar problems. I apologise if this has come up before with this controller but this thread now has 81 pages and I have not got a spare week to read every reply. Regards Nigel
