      Yes on both counts. Loved this band since a friend played me Ummagumma too many years ago.

      Took all the phones etc. out of the sockets and tried the main socket with two cabled phones, line dead as a Dodo. No ring tone nothing. Tried phoning in from my mobile one big fat 0.

      I prooved my phone fault by borrowing next doors working phone. It didn't work at my house but still worked when given back to next door. BT still said it was my fault, though, and kept cancelling the fault report! 3mths later the engineer confessed he found a wire out at the exchange! Broadband worked throughout though!!

      I had that, recurrent for weeks. It was a bad connection in a junction box undr the pavement round the corner. I wasn't that bothered but for myself but need the phone in case of something happening to my (very old and frail) Dad.
