  9. That's the one, the new chassis are pretty good and run quite slow, I have several so I'm tempted to make a small shunter myself. Jerry.
  10. Thanks Everyone for your replies. Quite a bit has been done since the last photo/update and I will post a photo and info later, I'm cleaning up the mess at the moment to keep SWMBO happy. Jerry

  14. Thanks, it was a bit of a pain to build but worth it in the end. Thanks, I took your advice and added the extra lintels and it looks much better so thanks for that. Jerry.
  15. Looking great, I really like your little green 0-4-0 shunter too, also your bridge looks good. Jerry
  16. Thanks. My wife thinks she's a modelling widow as I have spent most of today on the layout so I have finished for tonight. Before I go, here is a quick photo of the finished bridge: It looks better now, going to blend it into the layout tomorrow. Jerry.
  17. Hi Everyone. I did some work on the bridge today and it doesn't look to bad, I built it with bits of brick paper I had lying about, I'm not 100% happy it but there is more to do yet so it may look better then. Here is a quick photo: More soon. Jerry.
  18. I guess it depends if want passenger trains as well as goods/shunting or just goods trains/ shunting, personally I would go for the first one, similar to my current layout but I have a kick back siding too, it gives good variety than just wagons. The second plan is good if you want the inglenook shunting puzzle type of layout. Jerry.
  19. Thanks for the replies Everyone. Today I am going to cover the bridge in brick paper or maybe brick sheet if I have enough and then detail it up and add the road too. Jerry.
  20. Fantastic looking layout, very atmospheric and you feel you are there in the middle of it all. Jerry.
  21. Looks a good project, personally I prefer plan 1, the other plan looks a bit cramped. Jerry.
  22. The layout looks superb, very nice indeed. Jerry.
  23. Thanks booking hall and Kevin for kind comments. A bit more work yesterday and in keeping with the reuse and recycle theme I made a road bridge out of leftover balsa wood and some foam board. Here is a quick photo: Its a bit of a mishmash and needs a bit of tidying, next job is to cover it in Metcalfe brick paper. More soon. Jerry.
  24. Hi Everyone. I have been working on the layout today and planted a tree which I made myself using the twisted wire technique and plaster and lichen. I've also done a bit of ballasting and painted the track. Here is a couple of photos of lastest progress: More soon. Jerry.
