A study in 9Fs - an earlier photo. Evening Star waiting to cross over to the Loco Yard, whilst it's sibling waits in the headshunt to couple up to its goods train. The boy has a good train spotting position.

Thanks Graham. Townstreet Models building. Amazing what they manage to cast in plaster, just needs careful painting to highlight the detail. This one is an iron mongers window display. Sorry to read that CR modelling might be on hold if/when you relocate back to the U.K. Hope all goes well. Best Wishes Clive

A quick glance at the photographer, and Crispin accelerates down Station Road. Problem with close up photos is they show little modelling faults not always visible to the naked eye - so gap between road and kerb stone, and broken bottom hinge on gate 🙄

I have not seen Sam's review, so not sure what torque issues he refers to. All I can say is my model runs beautifully, but have not loaded it with heavy loads, by heavy I mean 10+ coaches or 30+ wagons.

I agree. As you say I've seen photos of them on iron ore trains running tender first in the Welsh Valleys - from Ebbw Vale if I remember correctly. I considered labelling the photo above as a 9F banker, but there is no gradient and it is running wrong line 😄

Evening Star waiting to be turned. Just arrived with a local passenger, so I guess Canton shed were short of motive power to use her on such menial work. Model is Bachmann and one of my pre-owned bargains bought from a model shop a few years ago . Needed a bit of cosmetic repair (cab windows, hand rails etc). Weathered it and added usual details, sound decoder etc. No idea what the new Hornby 9Fs are like, but I think the Bachmann model is still excellent, and runs well.
