Bit of an odd question, but I'm working on a Takom MK10 Chieftain, Berlin camo, but I want some figures to go with it. So does anyone have a set of British Army figures circa 1980s they wouldn't mind parting with?

I'm a sucker for alternative liveries, so if the BR ones ended up causing headaches you can blame me.

So an interesting thought exercise would be what designs from around ~1921 could have been taken forward into mass production as "standards" for the whole country? Noting that design would still probably have been some regional specialisation dominated by the same CMEs as the Big Four.
In terms of a standard modern design that could be produced quickly in the 1920s, you could do far worse than the class N 2-6-0s.

@James Hilton Will the Rails exclusive be arriving the same time as the main range?

And then lastly onto near present day, seen behind No. 419 regularly and No. 828 in 2018. The former can't be far away from a tooling either.
I would happily chuck my dwindling cash reserves at a 439

It's the artwork from Rapido UK, who are based in Staplehurst. What does Sheffield have to do with it? (Besides the model being available from Rapido stockists, including those in Sheffield).
D'oh!!

Its not coming up for me, could you send me the image directly?
Oh wait, it’s the artwork from Sheffield. I thought you’d maybe shopped up a picture of the real thing.

What was the exact reason for going with the class 91 over the 89?

Now @McC the question that should be on everyones mind is, will you do the one they built for CIE?

@McC Just adding My two pence, I feel that a good compromise on the chains would be to simply make the body bracket a push fit instead of gluing it in the factory, my two did have loose chains, including one where the bracket had come apart! Nothing I couldn't sort, but it did involve clearing the factory glue out with a 1mm drill bit, exciting for an order that came to three hundred and twenty pounds. But I'm not complaining, especially since in order to notice anything, I'd need to be about a centimetre away from it.

I will optimistically predict that I will get an email for my two on Monday next week, though given where I am, probably won't see em until Wednesday.
@Accurascale Fran All meant in good humour, not as pressuring. I live in nowhere so I'm used to long delivery times.
Well if I wasn’t spot on! A coincidence I am sure ;). But that’s Black Watch and Scotty Grey heading my way.- 1

Famine to feast for south-western modellers. Not that it’s a bad thing.

And Ballymoss was an Irish racehorse, making Ballymoss the Irish Deltic....
Guess you could say he was my lovely horse. Fran I make no apologies, and I still want a CIE Deltic.

I would be happy to do so privately, I tend to only post my modelling on a couple of Facebook groups these days (and not often). I think - not sure - but I think my B1 mods are likely still in the RMweb Copley Hill Blog or on my own britishrailwaystories.com somewhere.
These days my modelling has remained rather more private and personal, which I enjoy more now than ten years ago when I was much more active online.
Good to hear from you after so long.

What with Peco drip feeding "TooTgate" and Accurascale announcing, anyone taking bets on Margate deciding to muscle in and announce a Platinum Jubilee purple "Lion" to use up all the stock they couldn't use as Trains On Film?
I don't think they actually have a 'lion' it was most likely never more than CGI.

Apros of future ideas for spare Bachmann Deltics, say BR had decided to build Fifty instead of Twenty-two Deltics because... your preferred reason. What would the next twenty-eight locomotives be named as? Any ideas?

I wonder if they could be adapted for 009. Might need inside bearing, or possibly the body on a new base.
