Hi Robin, that's such a nice model and the lining and crest is superb, will you be getting the Dukedog after seeing Nick's then?
-
Great pics again, as Al said, the roof and lane look terrific.

I see Andy P has turned up! The self-styled "King of Bodgeit" should feel at home here..............
Nice to have another guitarist, if only of the four string variety. Just kidding, Andy.
I stumbled over Tab Benoit yesterday - a most excellent guitar player in the blues idiom....
And, yes, one day I’ll make the SWAG slug fest too before I kick anything (could be a bit smelly if it was after).
Best, Pete.
Cheers Pete, I did play 6 as well when I was doing my Hank M impersonations in Stratagy, (playing Strats, and a bit on the agy side).
I will have to look up Tab Benoit, lately I been listening to The Temperance Movement (good rocky blues) as they've been on Planet Rock a lot, and of course Joe Bonamassa.

Been to Conway today so was able to put my riddle in some sort of perspective.
The Goods Crane is just off the path.
Two possibilities:
i) The Goods Yard has been absorbed and all that is left is the Crane.
ii) The Crane has been relocated.
If you can see the fence on the right, it is about 20 metres from the regular through track.
PS: I've included a Jackdaw on top of the crane for your added enjoyment.
How did you know his name was Jack?
-
That is a leading statement Jeff. How about the Copy Pit route from Todmorden to Burnley? Double tracked, lots of coal trains banked by 8F's (even diesels were banked by them in later days), Lancashire & Yorkshire?
:D
Or Exeter Central and Bulleids to keep Rob happy

I've just had a Belgium Bun with my coffee, does that count as fattening?

It is reviews like this - and many others every year - that make me convinced this annual "do" must be in my bucket list. [Anyone unfamiliar with that expression - it is a list of things to do before you kick the bucket.] As has been said, the warmth of RMwebbers is even more convincing when you get to shake their hands!
I agree it is good to see Andrew P on here, because as well as his modestly-presented but excellent modelling, his threads always abound with humour, so he will only add value to ERs.
Thank you Ian, You are most generous in your praise of my constant coc* ups and re do's / mind changing Layouts.
With Kingsley I got excited about Third Rail then lost all enthusiasm due to well documented (On Kingsley) House move / not move issues.
The pace of posts on here is unbelievable and I'm surprised anyone has time for modelling in real terms, unless of course they employ a secretary and dictate whilst modeling, now there's a plan, hahha.
Anyway, come on here at Coffee Time and now its dam near Dinner Time, what a way to spend retirement, ahhah.

Great to see you on ERs, Andy. :sungum: Hope you make yourself at home, here.
Well, a good morning to you all.
Can't quite make out what it's going to do today. It's sort of cloudy misty bright with the sun managing to shine through. Not quite as stormy looking as our trip back home from the excellent Liverpool MR exhibition on Saturday. So, some pics taken along the North Wales coast From a Carriage Window.
Abergele and Pensarn - nice bit of green stuff, there.

Yup, they got the rain.
Approaching Bangor...

Yay. Sunny....
The carriage window. Well, not quite OUR window, we were sat on the other side.
Hoping you all have a good day.

Morning Polly, I thought this was supposed to be for Early Risers, well your post shows 10.10 which in real terms is 11.10 so what do you call early, (Now looking for crash helmet for next time we meet up).
As I said its certainly different, almost a page and a half since I posted on here this morning and I'm still wadeing through.
Glad you had a good show, I went to Sutton Coldfield on Sunday for a couple of hours, (it was my Birthday so couldn't stay out to long, things planned). I have posted some pics on Nickwoods, Much Murkle which was way beyond expectations.
Catch up again soon.

Morning all just been told about this section and its certainly different.
The sun is shining in Swad this morning and being retired I guess I will just have to drop the Good Lady off at the Supermarket to do the shopping whilst I take the Greyhound for a leisurely stroll.
Will look back again later over coffee.

I've just got home and unpacked Much Murkle. What an enjoyable weekend. Great organisation by the Sutton Coldfiled MRS and my thanks go to Nigel Gosling and his team for looking after us so well.
The audience was a very mixed bunch from grandparents and parents with their offspring who were very well behaved through to the very knowledgeable enthusiasts. We had a great time sharing many laughs and answering many questions with everyone who stopped and spent time in front of Much Murkle, and there were many of them.
We were very busy all weekend which made the time pass all too quickly. It was great to meet Andy, I love the photos by the way, particularly the one of the Cider Factory and Rob and have a chat with some fellows who appreciate the finer points of the GWR
It was especially gratifying for Much Murkle to be awarded "Best Visiting Layout"
I'll finish with a message to Andy Yorke. If you're reading this Andy watch out for Phil Parker's boot !!!
I'm now going to sink a few glasses of RLW
And very well deserved it was too, well done again. :locomotive: :locomotive: :locomotive:

Hi Mike. Great to meet up with you, again, yesterday, and thanks for reminding us about Dent. This is coming on a treat. You'll soon be looking back in amazement at all these 'early' pics of empty and bare board and white stuff. Have you used Sculptamould on top of the insulation material? If not, have a look at Camel Quay at some of the things Ray has done with it. Again lightweight, very versatile, easy to use and, from my perspective, seems to take paint (I generally use acrylics) and PVA glue for the scenic stuff.
Polly
PS My silly side may come later. [Those should keep the Bodgit off my case ]
I didn't know you had a NONE silly side, just shows dun it gall :boast:

Hi all,
Another funny about trenches.... My EX Father in Law had a plant hire company and his partner was on site one morning following torrential rain, the footings were flooded as are yours Jeff, but higher! Everyone was stood around until the foreman came to get them motivated. When he asked what the problem was they showed him the height of the water by dipping a boot in almost to the top, he replied to the guy... "lend me your wellies, I'm taller than you so I should be alright" Needless to say, well use you imagination, I won't add the nationality but I'm sure you all can guess!
Mike, Dee and I were rolled up with that tale, really really good, still chuckling, hahaha
-
Nice pics Mike, its good to that not all Lunesters are couch potatoes, just Jeff and my self.
The hillside looks impressive and once stone walled it will be unmistakeable as Dent.
What will you use to represent the water in Monkey Beck?
-
Hi Richard, well it really does look the Dog's mate, so so nice, well done.
On the down side if I may be super critical, (and remember I haven't seen it in the flesh so to speak) and that is the star style lights appear to give funny shadows on the backscene.
Please tell me to sod off if I'm wrong, I wont be offended.

It's funny how things evolve on here sometimes.Last week Sierd asked me for a photo shewing the down station building canopy. He's working on a drawing for it.The photo taken probably late 50s had pannier 9678 on it too.
Today I saw Nick Wood's excellent Much Murkle in the flesh and was impressed by his Bachmann pannier enough to want another myself.
Searching for images of 9678 I've come across this excellent site. Not seen it before but has 'cough cough' Southern steam too as well as the Teign Valley line including Bovey Tracey where my wagons are based. http://archive-images.co.uk/index.gallery.php?gid=37&ipg=6
Incidently 9678 was also still at NA in '48 too.
So Icould be in the market for a Bachmann GWR liveried 8750 class. As long as it runs like Nick's of course.
I know its NOT your thing but I picked up a BR Black late crest 8750 on Friday, pics on Kingsley shortly.

I'm thinking of forming the KL2 Canal Preservation Society just as the Rev Peter Deny had with Buckingham Great Central when he TRIED to remove it.
-
I first asked the question re the baseboard height as much for myself as for KL2 or any other layout.
I have had some really bad knee pains of late from getting under the Clubs Layout and this has caused me to have a serious think about both what I want and what I can manage in any future project wherever it may be.
Have a good time at your Dads and take your ruler, pencil and paper to work it all out.
Looks like KL2 could have its own working Canal Section.

Just to reiterate what Robin has said, I think we arrived at Much Murkle about the same time this morning and the Layout is way beyond expectations.
The balance of scenic colour mixed with prototypical running made the viewing a real pleasure.
Here are some pics from my short visit this morning.
And finally one of Nick, (far left), and Robin (grwrob / A nod to Brent) in deep discussion on the merits of the GWR.
Hope you like them Nick

Nice pics there Robin, It was good to meet you today at the Sutton Coldfield Show, we were both enthralled with Nick's Much Murkle, and Its always good to put a face to a name from yet another RM Webber.
Your Layout and Nick's Much Murkle, Hintock and Hemyock are all real inspirations.
Thanks all.

Wow indeed Shaun, that is some pad, can I rent about a quarter until I can do my 6 x 4 Potting Shed
That mill really is the Dogs nuts mate, I tried to make something similar once, it was pre aged as when I looked at it, it looked like it already had subsidance as the windows weren't in line but up and down like a yo yo, hhaha.
Have a good day.

Have a good show mate. :locomotive: :locomotive:
All the best.

Hi Al, good to see you've got the sack you will have them Crates over a Barrel if there not right, hhahah
Really nice work, I go out and spend a fiver on packs of Barrels, Crates and Sacks and you make them for next to nothing, well done mate.
Instead of looking for Sacks, Crates and Barrels at the show tomorrow I will be looking for tubing, DAS and plastic strip.

Jeff, SELL THE LOCOS
Buy some radio controlled boats
I tried to do a Friendly / Supportive to Jeff's flooded trench and my little arrowy thing kept flashing over the Heart and wouldn't let me click on it to begin with, has anybody else had the same or similar issues? :scratchhead:

Hi Ian, just had another catch up and the track (and the Kingsmill mirror image track plan) looks excellent mate. I hope it works well for you and it gets to the Exhibition Circuit soon.
