  1. Colin, Doesn't happen in Cricket though, where a lot of the Umpires are ex-players. Cheers Neal.
  2. Even though I'm a football fan, I'd still like to know why this subject is being treated as headline news?? Manchester United are only 1 football club out of 92 league clubs, no one, except Leicester City supporters, has mentioned Leicesters achievement of winning the Championship, or Lutons fantastic achievement of getting back into the football league, or Wolve's achievement of ptmotion back to the Championship at thd first attempt. Oh no none of them are headline news, but wo is me, a football club has sacked their manager for not getting into Europe!! Well wooppee doo, all of those teams just mentioned would give their back teeth to finish 7th in the Premiership, and rake in the money for finishing in that position. It's about time the fans of these top Premiership clubs learnt some humility, even though I don't like the way they're going about their business at the moment, I do admire the Man City fans for their loyalty and a certain amount of humility, because they at least know what it's like to suffer relegation twice in successive years and fight their way back to the top, and take their loyal fan base with them. My only hope for next season is that we finish in 17th position, because that means Premiership survival. Regards Neal A loyal and suffering Leicester City fan for more than 40 years!!!
  3. Right, surely SkyBet can now start wrapping blue and white ribbons around the handles of the Championship title :yahoo:
  4. Ben, Will it be with you in time for the AGM?? If so are you coming and will you bring it with you?? Regards Neal.
  5. David, Absolutely. I'm at my daughters in Germany and have been sat here with my son watching the results come in quite nervously, especially when QPR equalised. But when the Bournemouth v QPR result finally came in, we cheered and raised a glass to NP and the boys, now its PARTY PARTY time!!! We just need to win that Chamiponship trophy now. Regards Neal UTF
  6. Oooohhhhh getting excited now, only 2 wins needed for promotion. So beat Sheff Weds on friday night, and then beat Brighton on Tuesday and we're there. Then, if results go our way with Burnley, we could also be celebrating as Champions as well. Regards Neal.
  7. Just watched the mighty Foxes beat Burnley 2-0 Only 9 points needed from the remaining 7 games to get promotion back to the Promised Land of the Premiership. Me and my son are 2 happy Leicester City fans today. Just need Blackpool to beat QPR this afternoon and my day will be complete Regards Neal.
  8. Oh gee thanks I must say, that I'm finally beginning to believe that we can actually do it this season, and not implode like last season. So is the large female warming up her vocal chords??? I certainly hope so Cheers Neal.
  9. Dave, Just done a bit of research on the Clayton, as I was about to order one of D8512. I have discovered that D8512 was replaced as a Derby RTC loco, in 1972 by D8598, as D8512 suffered major mechanical failure. Are these locos going to be easy to renumber?? Or can you adjust the numbering of the Class 17's to include D8598?? Regards Neal.
  10. I've just had a look at theBachmann site and the photo associated with the Warflats is from the NRM archive http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/image_box.php?image=images1/branchline/38-725.jpg&cat_no=38-725&info=0&width=500&height=315 it seems to be showing Comet tanks on the Warflats. The Comets came into the war later on in 1944, but stayed in service with the British Army for a while after the war according to Wikipedia http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comet_tank Regards Neal.
  11. Calimero, If you mean Pengwynn Crossing, then yes it is. We at Bentley Model Railway Group in Chippenham http://www.bmrg.org.uk/ still have it. We do need to look at the wiring and the control panel, but it is still my favourite club layout, even though it's OO. As Chairman I'd like to see it back out next year, as its the layouts 25th birthday, but I'm not sure we'll make it. Regards Neal Chairman BMRG
  12. Nearly spat my tea all over my keyboard when I saw this post, thinking what Jerry would be muttering about it. Must admit though Jerry, as always a great advocate of our 'scale' ;-);-);-) Regards Neal.
  13. Why did Mandaric have to do this now?? Couldn't he have waited until after we'd played them?? I'm sure he did to spite us, as after he allowed Pearson to leave for Hull we then went through the pantomime of various managers including Sven. But once he sold us to our current owners and we lured Pearson back, we're starting to reap those benefits. Oh and did I mention that we're top of Championship but how long we'll stay there is anyone's guess, after last seasons dismal run post January anything can happen. But I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts. Regards Neal.
  14. Or forgot the green shield stamps.........
  15. Ben Can you put your latest update onto the NGauge Forum as well please?? As not everyone on NGF is on here. Regards Neal.
  16. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought to myself "Hang on I don't remember a railway anywhere near where I was bought up!!!" You see I lived in Aylestone in Leicester for a long time, and the nearest railway was the old Great Central, which was ripped up a few years after I was born. Regards Neal. P.S. Good luck with this latest venture.
  17. What, burning more schools down in Manchester See you at TINGS.... Regards Neal.
  18. Looking good Ben. Are you bringing them to TINGS for us all to gawp at?? Regards Neal
  19. Your pushing against an open door with me there. You try supporting a team outside the Premiership, its almost as if there is no other football outside of the Premiership, especially where the BBC is concerned. Now the Football season, believe it or not, actually started 2 weeks ago, not this week when the Premiership prima-donnas donned their kit, I settled down on the 3rd August as usual to watch the BBC results show on the Red Button to find it wasn't there, even though all the Football League games were being played. Now I know the BBC have a program on AFTER Match of the Day showing the Football League highlights, but just for once it would be nice for the Football League to be noticed and appreciated by the BBC, not all of us line the pockets of Murdochs Empire. Right I'll get off my soapbox now, at least we've won our first 2 away games for the first time, well ever!!!! Regards Neal. UTF
  20. Jerry, I think another display at one of the Gas Cupboard soirees is required. Cheers Neal.
  21. Jerry, Can I ask whereabouts you're going to put Sainsbury's??? :mosking: Cheers Neal.
  22. Aahhh well, thats blown our chance of advancing in the FA Cup then, new manager syndrome against Birmingham away and then new manager syndrome in front of their home fans against us. But there again, there's rumours going around, that the players don't like DI Matteo either. Chelsea are fast becoming a poison chalice to anyone. Every manager there in the last few years has won major trophies at all their other clubs before Chelsea, they come to Chelsea and suddenly they're bad managers??? I don't buy it. The big question is, who will now go to Chelsea??? I can't see Mourinho going back, I think he'll want something like the United job when Fergie finally retires just to prove a point to Abramovich. The latest rumours are Guardiola, Benitez and Capello. Benitez would do a good job and I think Capello might have something to prove to English football. To me Gurdiola is the unkown quantity, he's done brilliantly at Barcelona but where else has he been??? And would Abramovich take a gamble on an upcoming young manager again?? Oh well, why should I worry about a Premiership team, we won't be playing them anytime soon :umbrage: Regards Neal.
  23. David, Precisely why I've told you now that it's wanted for the Chippenham show in September :onthequiet: That's giving you 8 months to get it finished, actually sometimes it's best to have a deadline otherwise progress can stagnate a bit and having a deadline gives you impetus, well somtimes it does anyway :derisive: Anyway, drop me a PM when you're ready or you want the details. Cheers Neal.
  24. David, I've just been catching up on your thread on this and I must say I'm very disappointed and confused with this comment!!!!! I thought you enjoyed your sojourn upto us with Ring Road??? And anyway, I think Cross Street has already been mentioned as a possible for, oohhhh lets say Chippenham Show this September??? So get cracking and get it finished me old matey ;) Regards Neal
  25. Don't knock it, I would kill for a dull, boring win at the moment!!!!!! Regards Neal.
