  2. Hello Yes it is based on the Framlingham branch at the end of its life but we have kept the passenger service going to the end. We will try and put a couple of photos up sometime and thanks for the interest. Cheers George
  3. Hello Framplington is now up and successfully running and loaded in the van ready for tomorrows long journey to Glasgow. Seems the weather is going to be good and the sun is going to shine on us. Hope to see you there. Cheers George
  4. Hello Look forward to seeing you, please say hello. I often do have a deep fried Mars bar when I'm up there. Almost as traditional as haggis. Cheers George
  5. Hello The new layout created by John Norton. Richard Coleman and myself, called Framplington makes its debut at Model Rail Scotland in Glasgow in three weeks time. The layout is set in Suffolk in 1965 and features a selection of green diesels. The station and the branch are running down to closure though freight traffic still seems to be healthy enough but then back in the day that was the way of the world. We look forward to seeing you there or possibly somewhere else in the future. Cheers George
  6. Hello Thank-you rob, glad you enjoyed it. The layout will be at DEMU Show-case in June. Cheers George
  7. Hello Sadly we received the wrong award but it will be swapped at Glasgow. The replacement is however bigger and more impressive. Cheers George
  8. Hello Sadly we were given the wrong award so we are going to swap it over at Glasgow. The good news is that the replacement is bigger. 15 minutes of fame or what. Cheers George
  9. Hello Wrong. George built the 'gay' signal box Simon. Anyway it was all a partnetrship wasn't it. If I remember rightly you are still part of the team though you are on maternity leave at the moment. Thank-you Ian for the kind words, glad you liked it. Cheers George
  10. Hello Very good show, our first time there. Very friendly and we were well looked after all weekend. Oh and by the way 'Towcester' won the Conway Cup for best in show. What more can you ask for. Cheers George
  11. Hello Just a short note to say that 'Towcester' won the Conway Cup for best in show at Kendal exhibition this lat weekend. Yippee! Cheers George

  13. Hello All the electrical gubbins has had it's annual PAT testing done so we are ready to go tomorrow and also the rest of the year. Cheers George
  14. Hello Looking at Paul Bartletts website it would appear that all the 282 1964 built Esso wagons had single ladders which are the ones I modelled and that I was referring to in my post. Cheers George
  15. Hello John and I will be travelling north next weekend to exhibit 'Towcester' at the above show. Hope the weather isn't too bad. Cheers George
  16. Hello News to me Mark that DT has given me any speakers. I have four huge ones in my sitting room though and smalller though still good ones in the dining room and the railway room. I suspect there won't be any on the road to Kendal as the hire van is a bit old and the radio barely functions. I'm sure John will whistle a happy tune to keep me happy. See you in Glasgow. Cheers George
  17. Hello John and I will be heading north to Glasgow with our new layout 'Framplington' which will be making its debut at Model Rail Scotland. Looking forward to it, seeing old friends and meeting new people. Cheers George
  18. Hello I'm so. so sorry! Cheers George
  19. Hello I may be wrong but I think the Esso owned TTV/TTA tanks had different steps to the type in your photograph. They has a single ladder down one end and not two , one on each side. I did a rake for our Towcester layout using Skits etches. See the pictures on Paul Bartlett's site. Cheers George
  20. Hello My music tastes might not be to every-one;s liking but it was my MP3 stick and my car. Sorted. No Galveston then. Quite lot of the music is younger than me and also thereefore you as well Clive. I don't pay for giving name checks, I think basking in a spot of reflected glory is reward enough. The new layout is called Framplington by the way and I'm saddened to hear that you are retiring as well as New Bryford. Look forward to seeing you all in Glasgow or wherever. Cheers George
  21. Hello It was nice to go to Canterbury yesterday and see so many old friends and some very fine layouts and of course to bid farewell to TWY on this farewell performance, (at least for now). There did seem to be more operators than there were trains on the layout which is saying something. We had a nice, safe journey home, in my case to a cold house with no heat or hot water. wonderful. All the best for the team today. See you at Kendal. Cheers George
  22. Hello Glad you thought it was good, after all you got a name check --twice!! See you in the morning friend. Cheers George
  23. Hello One thing you don't need to do is alter the springs as the Bachmann TTA is basically a TTV to look at as they have leaf springs. The TTAs have Bruninghaus springs. So if you want an accurate TTA you need to change the springs. The reason to alter the springs was to increase speed especially in Speedlink trains. Cheers George
  24. Hello Thank-you for your kind comments Clive, glad you enjoyed it. Yes I thought the Modeller was good this month but then I would say that wouldn't I. Cheers George
