  1. Hi Paul, Yes I think that's probably what's going to happen, I've made a note of all the private work, aka weathering and sound fitting so I'll be in touch individually with each customer to discuss. It may work out that it's best to pay me independently when it's ready to post back to the customer. Either way I'll advise! Yes it'll be a busy few weeks ahead..
  2. Just to add to Mike's post..yes 37114 is due VERY soon. But it'll take us a few weeks to prepare and start dispatching the models, so please bear with us. The models are now at a revised price of £164.95 due to Bachmann's increases which we have to pass on, which is still a tenner below the current RRP of some limited 37s, so it's not too bad. And we're now offering free UK postage to offset the price increase, and as a thank you for being patient! We will be in touch soon, big thank you to all of you who have supported us with this one..and the next ones! Heres some tasty pictures for you in the meantime.. Alex
  3. Yeah. Too much going on I guess, same here I'd even forgotten it was on order! Looking forward to this one, definitely going to be sought after too.
  4. RTC 31 due to land at Kernow next week, found out the hard way because my card stopped working. I thought it was illegal to keep card details as I registered interest by phone and they took 1p as a deposit last year with the idea of calling me to arrange payment when it arrived. Anyway, stuff it it's too late now. Looks to be a good model! It'd be nice to get a call when you've specifically asked for one, rather than big sums going on the wrong card without notice. A certain Liverpudlian retailer never bother either, they use whatever card you happened to use last with them without asking. Sorry to moan, nothing personal just a mini rant! I can feel a dedicated credit card just for pre orders coming on..a very dangerous idea but it'd solve the problem Very tempted with 50007, might swap my first release model for this earlier version. Some good diesel stuff from Hornby in the correct colours, makes a change. Well done Kernow, the 31s will fly if they haven't already sold out.
  5. Absolutely read my mind, I heard a few others saying this aswell. Nice layout spoilt by a cloud of noise. Sound has to be kept realistic or it simply turns into a big nondescript noise and you can't actually hear any particular loco. Rather like white noise. In reality most locos would have been switched off which would allow you to concentrate on what was actually moving. On a layout of that size you can easily have a few locos idling on depot no worries at all, which is also realistic, just not everything! I enjoyed the show, lots of interest in our MMRG limited edition models but I have to say it felt quiet apart from Saturday morning, and my stand sales figures were way down..almost a quarter of previous years. I spent a lot more than I took in..haha. Look forward to next years, hopefully with a few more specialist traders IMHO. Good show.
  6. Thanks! Currently sold out though..feel free to drop me a line with your details and I'll add you to the waiting list if you want one. Alex
  7. You will have had a conformation email at the time of ordering provided the details were entered correctly into the online order form, but they have a nasty habit of going into folks spam folders! We sent out a current data protection consent email two weeks ago for all customers who are pre-registerd on our order database. If you didn't get that one, message me as that would indicate you entered an incorrect email address on the online form. Or again check the spam/junk folder as it might just be in there. We'll be in touch for payment when the models arrive, which is currently scheduled for mid to late June. Obviously it'll take us a few weeks to process 500 orders. They are currently on the high seas.. Alex
  8. Hi folks, the online order form is now live. Alex
  9. Maybe later.. haha. Don't give up hope just yet!
  10. Thanks! The order form on the website goes live on Monday now I think. Lots of technical stuff to sort out and not enough time as per usual! Alex
  11. Don't worry Ben you're sorted! Didn't have your email that's all, text it me and I'll add it to the list. Alex
  12. Production samples arrived at Barwell on Tuesday and are currently being checked over. So hopefully I'll have some pics for you within a week or so! 37114 is now in production, delivery still expected early to mid June. Thanks! Alex
  13. Take a look at the box, it'll have a date stamped in blue ink in the bottom white part of the tray (for the current style box). I hope they go back to full fat v4s too.
  14. I had a chat with Mr Oxford at Model Rail Scotland, the plan is to use a favourable shade which will match the products they are likely to be sandwiched by, ie; DBSO and a class 47. So go figure.. I think that's a good move. I'll be buying a scotrail rake for definite.
  15. Further to my previous post, Model Rail Scotland was a great success, and I'm very glad it wasn't this weekend because we probably would've got stuck in the snow. Anyway, I'm pleased to report that 37114 has now sold out. HOWEVER..if anyone is reading this and would still like one, please still fill in the pre order form on the website mmrg.org.uk because there will always be a small number of pre-orders that will get cancelled for whatever reason, so any further names on the list will be put on a reserve list for when this happens. So carry on as we were. Many thanks everyone, first model down, more to come! Thanks for helping to save Mickleover Model Railway Group and by default the Derby show, couldn't have done this without you. Alex
  16. Hi all, Just a little update to squash a rumour. Someone on the Bachmann stand at Model Rail Scotland has been incorrectly telling folks enquiring that our 37114 has been delivered already, and some of our pre order customers were getting worried that they've missed it. This is incorrect, as stated above they have been delayed in China and delivery is expected in June. So no need to worry! The show was a great success, and as of close of business on Sunday we only had 3 models left available to order. Obviously I'll keep taking orders as long as they keep flowing in, as reserve incase we have any cancellations. So once again, thanks! I'm AFK for a couple of days now, but any questions PM me and I'll get back when I can. Alex
  17. I have to say, Heljan have made a right cock up of this one..see pic. I had to do a double take! That can't be an accident.. Currently doing a small batch of these in red stripe/BR blue for TTCdiecast, so feel free to have a looky! Great packaging for a change. Nice model. Alex
  18. That bell on the Locomotion picture looks O gauge at the risk of getting hung drawn and quartered. Sticks out nearly as far as the buffer shanks, and too wide. No doubt Shawplan will produce one in due course.. Standard finish release for me on order, and I'll go scale bell hunting shortly. Re a previous comment, all Bachmann 66s have air hoses in the accessories bag, they're just horrid ribbed things which is a mystery. I have a stash of nice Shawplan cast ones thankfully which improve the appearance no end! Looking forward to getting this one, special loco. Standard release is sold out on pre order needless to say.
  19. Hi all, just to say the expected delivery date for our 37114 to land here is June, I was waiting for possible news of an earlier date but I think it's safer to say June. That way people can plan finances etc. That's a pretty firm date, so don't worry I'm not stringing you along on false hope. There is a small chance of it arriving a few weeks earlier but I'll keep you updated on here first. Just so nobody thinks we've forgotten to get in touch with them etc etc, it's all in hand. Chinese new year etc has pushed it back a bit. So once again, thanks for your orders and we/I will be in touch to arrange payment when they arrive. Thanks for supporting our new building! No pun intended.. As we stand, approaching single figures left. Alex
  20. Thanks Rob! As a quick update, if anyone wants to see 37114 'in the plastic' then you'll be able to come and see us and it at Model Rail Scotland..I'll be helping out operating Aberdeen Kirkhill 2, and it'll be in service hauling trains as it should be! But feel free to come and annoy us and I'll show you the factory sample or my painted loco. Order forms will be available from us at the layout if you can't find one at the show. We're currently down to almost 20 models left, and I expect to hand a out a fair few pre order forms at the show so I think this really is anyones last chance to get one. Looking forward to MRS, and indeed 37114. Many thanks, Alex
  21. Funnily enough, yes that's the plan! Flyers/pre order forms for the next model/s will be posted out with 37114 orders, so that will give each existing customer an option to pre-order the next model/s and keep their existing certificate number. And if they don't fill in and return the completed physical or online form within a certain time, then it'll roll over to a new customer. So exactly as per the old Rail Express limited editions. Personally i've never been fussed about certificate numbers but I understand quite a few are and it went down well with the older Rail Express models, so we're going to follow suit. Alex
  22. I had access to the MK2/3 coach drawings and original BR paint specs. Exec dark grey was first on executive. Any fresh repaints in swallow used Falcon grey from 1988 (or at least should have done, maybe some places used up existing stocks of exec dark grey, we don't know). So it's possible some Executive coaches were simply rebranded with swallow lettering at depot level until their next overhaul, when they came out in full falcon grey swallow. Not that it applies here but for HST Mk3s no inter-city Executive vehicle was rebranded into swallow, only full repaints according to the official specs. So a Swallow branded HST will definitely be falcon grey. Hope that helps. Alex
  23. Intercity executive and scortail were 'executive dark grey' upper bodysides. Swallow (1987 on) was 'falcon grey' which is darker. Same rule for all swallow locos and stock. So the upper colour on the Oxfords is actually pretty close. As is the executive light grey (which applies to all three liveries on the lower bodysides). I'm actually quite impressed. So if anyone looks at pics of intercity executive ones the colour IS different. Replace the couplings with Bachmann wagon couplings and they're now close coupled. Or Kadees.
  24. I won't be replacing any of my Hornby MK3s with the new Oxford ones. Because the Hornby MK3 is a Mk3. Oxford have made a MK3A. Simples. I really like the oxford ones, despite a few little niggles which I can sort out, so my rake of Oxford MK3As are on order and should be with me soon.. lol Alex
  25. Thanks Andrew. So am I..haha! The remaining total is down to 29. Alex
