“Poop poop, oh dear little train, you seem to have attempted to join ‘The Big Railway’…”

Little Coach 116 tearfully explained to the Fat Controller - it wasn't our fault Sir, perhaps somebody changed the points before we had all passed by?

After running round its train, 47727 propelled its stock into the loop. The FR train duly arrived and apparently was one coach length too many for the points mechanism! 'Management' decided that the de-railed FR coach was not fouling the tour stock (only just though!)

"Management" wasn't impressed and told the Little Engine if he didn't behave, he would be sent to Woodham’s Scrapyard! 😢

Another 1000-piece jigsaw picture?

With thanks to Warwick Falconer.

Steam in the Metropolis - Any commuter who was waiting for a train at Vauxhall on Thursday 20 December 2007 probably remembers the experience... Bulleid Pacfic 34067 obliterating most of the South Bank as she gets away from Waterloo with a Cathedrals Express to Sherborne. With thanks to Ed Hurst for having a word with the crew, which they really took to heart!

The same event, two or three seconds later, from a different angle, but an even better title from Ian Docwra.

Leaving The Low Emissions Zone

The Bulleid light pacifics in their original form were known for their volcanic exhaust displays. This is 'Battle of Britain' class 34067 'Tangmere' working a "Steam Dreams' train away from Waterloo towards the photographers at Vauxhall.

Kilmersdon Colliery Incline 1962 by Ray Viney

@montyburns56 - thanks for that, once again this topic has lived up to its name, and inspired me to go and find more.

Kilmersdon Colliery Incline, 24 February 1962

Interesting slope sided wagon at the bottom of the incline, not something that I would immeadiately associate with the Somerset area ??

i was wondering about the topography of the area and was pleased to find a LiDAR map - seems to be a scan of the terrain. Shows the colliery area to be pretty much a plateau and the line in the photo goes from there to 'ground' level in a shallow cutting. Amazingly the LiDAR map also shows the extent of the bings/tips at the end of the two eastern 'sidings'.

OS map with LiDAR layer (use blue dot slider, bottom LH corner)

As an aside, a really useful feature rather than trying to decipher contours etc. on an OS 'Landranger'-type map

Perhaps they came from the Radstock Wagon Works. Does anyone know why there were two?

The second one is closer to Kilmersdon Colliery

Shell trying convince people they were living in the golden age of motoring, I guess. Very nice poster though, and further googling reveals what a really clever artist amt Craddock is.

Indeed, giving a retro feel to ads seems to be his speciality you might say.
