Soft paint brush recommendations

My trusty old faithful has got too clogged up to use and everything else I've bought recently is too stiff to flow paint on.

 

Can anyone recommend good brushes and where they get them please?

Any artists' supplies shop - just buy the most expensive watercolour brushes that you can afford.

I have several brushes from the Daler Rowney Aquafine range, which I find very good to use with acrylics and enamels. Widely available from art shops and places like Hobbycraft.

I only use acrylics.  Acrylic paint dries fairly quickly so thoroughly cleaning brushes frequently during extensive painting pays off for brush life, plus of course when changing colour or finishing.  I always rinse brushes in clean water then work them into my palm with some washing up liquid or hand soap.

 

Flat brushes of various sizes work best for me both for model painting and art.  Good for smooth covering and clean edges.

I'm told a wet pad is worth making for acrylics but haven't tried it yet.

 

Thanks for all the tips re brushes. I think my old favourites were just Beatties own or Humbrol but they were a cut above the average ive come across recently.
