After a small amount of attention, "Narrow Road" is ready to go. It will be touch and go as to whether the latest loco, a NLR 4-4-0T will be properly finished so if you see something brass coloured pulling the NLR carriages, don't be alarmed.

After a very enjoyable and rewarding exhibition career, this will be the last time "Narrow Road" is exhibited, so it will be very much a "last chance to see" for those that are interested.

If you're short of an experienced operator!

Mike.

Only a week to go!!!!!

A big push from me this weekend to get several jobs finished off on Fryers Lane in readiness for the ExpoEM North.  There are scenic bits that I've been working on off-board to fix down in their final positions and I'm currently in the middle of track laying in the new fiddle yard.  Will I get it all done in time?  There's only one way to find out; see you there...

edit to add: if anyone knows where I've hidden the track gauges I've just spent 30 minutes looking for, do let me know

Mark

I know where they are - that place called 'somwhere safe'

We all have a 'somewhere safe'

See you next week end.

Hopefully the pennies will fall into the appropriate alignment and funds will thus permit travel north for ExpoEM North again. Last year was the first one I attended and I found it one of the best of the year I'd been to (certainly outclassed many bigger shows imo, though ExpoEM was obviously on a par).

Short but not that desperate!

Are you back over for the show? Bring something blue along and we will wind Ken up a bit!

Charming, from hero to zero :umbrage: .

Of course I'm coming over, wouldn't mis Derek's soiree for anything, best show in the calendar.

I'll see what I can manage within Jet 2's limits, (although I seem to remember there is already something blue/blue grey/maroon at Thorne Towers.

... and I seem to remember that Urmstons main station building has been converted into a pub. Oh Dear.

At least there's a Co-op pharmacy next door to get some Asprin.

Now, would we do something like that...... ?

Well... my food tasters tell me it's a canny pint in there and the eats taste OK too, so the answer according to them is a resounding yup. With me being restricted to pop & crisps  (far more unhealthy than alcohol), I couldn't possibly comment.

Accused of being a 'tail gunner' at one of those evenings....

:chok_mini: Are you not sure you mean rear gunner? I expect you may have been in Bolton at the time?

Nop, they pointed at me when I asked for a lager and lime and chorused 'tail gunner'.... An RAF thing I believe. :scratchhead:

Dave Franks.
