RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted August 18, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 18, 2017 I am so glad Chris has got these in production. All I hope he can get some the other ranges up and running once he has sorted out the problems with them.
Steamport Southport
Well it seems that they are slowly getting there as the DMR and Churchward Loco kits now have a price and "In Stock" on them. Jason
RMweb Gold Dunsignalling Posted August 19, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 19, 2017 Two pairs of Restaurant car sides ordered Thursday, arrived this morning. Top class service. All I have to do now is find a couple of reasonably priced sacrificial Hornby FKs, which are usually a bit cheaper than the rest. John

RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted August 19, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) Would these restaurant cars have been used on inter regional services to the West Midlands? David What era David? For example August 1952 a converted to Cafeteria example ran on a Bournmouth Wolverhampton service and other conversions were used on Margate to Birkenhead services. 1960, 7940 and 7955 were altered to Kitchen Buffets and used in the Bournmouth York and Bournmouth Birkenhead trains. This info and further from David Gould's Maunsell's SR Steam Carriage Stock book from which I/you can get much more detail about rebuilding, allocations and livery.
