RMweb Gold russ p Posted March 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 20, 2015 I'm glad about the 15s,managed to pick one up in Peter's spares of Middlesbrough in December and thought that may have been my last chance. I have three Heljan ones and a techcad one but five Heljan ones would be good. Always think its a shame there were never any painted blue

I wonder in the new chassis parts of the 33/0 will be applied to the older 33/1 and 33/2. I want a Burma Star only in BR blue 33056 to replace the aging Lima model. bennyboy
Nice model, trouble is what are you going to do with it ? This thing wasn't self mobile (weren't the traction motors removed), it's good for the odd drag but otherwise sit in the back of the carriage sidings. Yep, I suspect that it will be end up being heavily discounted by the box shifters.
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted March 22, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 22, 2015 Hope D8234 is 8234 in Liverpool St Pilot guise Am sure Grahame wont mind if I link to https://www.flickr.com/photos/59835095@N02/6192043344/in/set-72157627773047648 Kind regards Phil

It's far easier to do the FYE and logo change oneself than to reverse the procedure.............so you will have to blame me for that one!

Suspect I couldn't have resisted the later version as I saw her like that every time I went on a trip up to London but if I have to do work I will probably pass - 33 Class 43 warships to do first! RMweb Premium 31A Posted March 23, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2015 Does anyone know how easy it is to remove the numbers from Heljan locos? I'd like another 'plain green' 15, but the only one with no yellow in this tranche seems to be D8204, with numbers on the ends as well as the cabs which I think was quite unusual. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/product/51513/1509_Heljan_Class_15_BoBo_Diesel_Locomotive_number_D8204 Would really prefer a Hornsey one! RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted March 23, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2015 The departmental class 15 might be better as a dummy but I suspect the chances of getting Heljan to release that are slightly below zero. D6511 as a 33/1 with pipework is a nice addition. Most push-pull locos hitherto have had the later TOPS-style numbers so for those of us more interested in the 60s-70s green-blue crossover period here's a welcome announcement. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest whether or not the 33/1 and 33/2 will have the new tooling applied. The new 33/0 body shape is much better but the step plate over the buffers seem way too big to me and I'm not a fan of the grille - I feel the old one is better. That much said my poor credit card which is facing a damaging onslaught of class 41 and 43 later this year now has to accommodate at least one more
