And now for something completely different.

Next up on the bench is an ex Midland 1698 class (3130) This is labled up as a London Road model, the eches are marked as a Connoiseurs Choice drawn by George Norton. So should go together well. These are now sold by Dragon Models. It seems very similar to a 3F I built from the Maygib range, so not sure whether there is any common history. As you will see it has been started but I will take it apart and then start from scratch. I want to compensate the chassis anyway.

The kit is designed to build the as built version with Johnson fittings and round top firebox. I have posted a thread asking some history of these so please look there if you help me out. I may change it to a belpiar firebox with Deeley fittings, as this may mean I can make it more saleable.

I am looking forward to this one as it is so different, compared with the hall and the west country. Might inspire me to get on and scratch build my 0395 class or my 700 class kit. Unless I build it as an early loco it will be a nice simple Mr Ford paint job. Or do I go for the Red????

Well the pictures show what I got in the box.

Those etches look pretty well tarnished to me. I wonder how long they have been sat in the box.

I'm looking forward to you completing this to your usual high standard.
