I have actually managed to get som work done on 735. I got the airbrush out and got some olive green onto the body. I am very pleased with the result. I had a little trouble I use celulose thiners, and because of the heat the evaporation was a bit quitck. But once I realised I thinned the paint a little more than normal, then it was fine. Much better than the enamel thinners I used with the black the other day.

I still need to do the buffer beams I am not sure if I am goingto maskthem and spry or do by hand. Might get Ivatt tender done first that will give me four to spray.

I am quite looking forward to doing the lining, I bought myself a Haffpen just before Christmas and this is the first opportunatity I have had to use it, apart from a few lines I drew on a sheet of card.

Here are the results so far. I think the olive sitquite nicely on the A1. I am very pleased the way the stove pipe chimney looks now it is painted. I was a little unsure before, with the two bits together it looks even better.

Lovely smooth finish there, its coming together rather nicely!

I also have a Haff pen, and a compass, but have yet to use it.

That looks super Peter.

It's only now that you have painted the two sections that the value of how you have made the smoke box and footplate separate from the body has dawned on me - I am not always this slow on the uptake.....

I remember reading an article in the press, I can't remember who it was though. I normally try to do then this way so that each bit is only painted one colour. Most of the time you end up with the smokebox attached to the boiler, but that is quite easy to mask.
