  1. DIW gave an estimate in his post above for when the photo uploads will complete for which I thank him. I'd thought we all would re-upload differently and randomly. Can I understand from what you post and others have said it applies to them too that where you have indicated a "YES" column I too if I have posted any photos then should also see them. i.e. we all get uploaded at the same time. My initial looks seems to show me overlapping your "YES" columns exactly. If this is a true statement then that will be a great help to inform us. I've just printed out your report and will use it to monitor my photo uploading. Thanks very much.
  2. Ummmm hy Martin have you noticed the addition to your "Tree" is a little badge, just under your name which says you are a Moderator if you hover over it. Hy Andy I'm not taking a pop at Martin but explaining why people might think he is a mod and yes I had read his explanation. Best
  3. Ummmm hy Martin have you noticed the addition to your "Tree" is a little badge, just under your name which says you are a Moderator if you hover over it. A question. Since the event you stated in your last post I seem to be stagnant with no recovery action occurring yet. Nothing has changed for me since the 2 events you list above. I have added some photos post 31st May 2021 which are still there. I also have some random photos pre this date that were there the first time I opened my account after the 2 events . I am continuing to wait but it would be most encouraging if I was seeing some photos arriving. I am seeing new posts by members but I'm wondering if my settings have got screwed in some way which is blocking any re-uploading of photos. Or is it just as you say and I have to wait and all will sort itself out. Best
  4. Oh no Rod the dreaded Covid nastiness has got you. Good to see you have had the 4th booster so you should only get some mild effects of it. Take care. I see you are Lenz controlled I have some of that all boxed up just keeping the dust off my shelving as I've changed over to Signa-track system.. Lenz LH 100, command station LZV 100, LS150 x 2 and 2 x Trans [1 big & 1 small] if any is of interest let me know I'm sure we could come to a mutual pleasing agreement. Get well soon
  5. Is there a way to see when an image has been updated? I can see that I have got some images showing by looking in attachments [thanks Martin] but the dates showing seem to be when I originally uploaded them to my topics. In addition others are saying they are getting new uploads but I don't appear to have had any since the failure. If I could confirm I've had one upload I would be content to just leave be and wait it out.
  6. THIS TOPIC IS GOING TO SLEEP WHILE THE NEW SERVER / HARD DRIVE IS RE-POPULATING ALL THE MANY MISSING PHOTOS. I'M EXPECTING ALL THE PHOTOS THAT HAD BEEN ADDED TO MY TOPIC BY OTHER MEMBERS WILL ALSO GET FIXED. IN THE MEAN TIME I CAN BE FOUND ON W.T. + G.O.G. + P1mrc FORUMS AMONGST OTHERS.
  7. Is there a suggested Best Practice for opening up our forum content now that we have a new server? Any Best Practice should become a sticky in the opening post of this topic. Should we just wait until any photo repopulation has been completed, as informed by Admin. Did both the server an the hard drives fail as my understanding of these is that for a server fail you should just un-plug the old and replace with a new one and activate it. For hard drive fails it is possible to recover most of the data but at a ££cost, I'm assuming the drives still exist. If I add some photos back in but do not delete the names of the old photos will it double up when the server begins to repopulate my topics again. Presently I'm hanging fire completely as I did put back in the last page of photos and lost them again when a 2nd outage took place. They're back in again. Going forward what assurances can be given of what steps have been taken to prevent loss of data again. It would be nice to be kept informed and up to date with any progress, expected further delays etc. Answers along these lines will help me to decide what effort I put back into my topics to rejuvenate them. Best
  8. I'm suffering from the same loss of photos as you 37114 but have decided to wait and see what appears. Also all the add in's from others are unlikely to re-appear and that will be a disaster particularly in the help areas. I very much like the "reminder" shots you have added though. Good luck with your first show. Best
  9. Good to see that work and some photos are appearing back on WKT. best
  10. and me too maybe instead of saying what your missing you may be advised to sit and wait it out and it will happen. In those well known words from Dad's Army "DON'T PANIC" repopulation is happening. 🥰
  11. Looking very interesting as usual Andy. I'll be keeping tabs on your build but not doing much interaction for a month or so until the forum has stabilised and re-populated all the photos, maybe. I had just started to add my disappeared photos only to find the server had got taken down and on its return the photos has disappeared again. I'll be staying away from photos for quite some time to allow the server to settle down. Keep up your excellent modelling. Best
  12. Very annoyed that I seem to have lost every photo I had posted all the way back to day one, what a mess. I did think Andy had said it was only photos from this year that couldn't be seen. Did I mis-understand what was said in that yes all photos except for those posted this year can be seen PROVIDING I re-load them back in. I'm not sure I'm up for that as I was going to start a new forum topic on my new layout but wanted some assistance from the forum mods to copy some pages into my new topic to start the topic title running but was told it was too complicated and Andy was already trying to sort the server out AND take a holiday so was advised to cut and paste what I wanted. Sadly kerrboom the server failed.................... As load every photo back in I think I may just start my new topic and leave the remnants floating in space as they now are. Lesson learnt >>> make a back up of all my photos including sensible titles for easier location. Make sure any server forum I visit has a good solid back up system that will recover all major work pertaining to any individuals use. not sure how I can do that as I have always taken it that should be an industry standard for any business to run. I used to run a system known as GRANDFATHER - FATHER - SON [GFS] on a monthly -weekly -daily cycle. nb the monthly/weekly were stored off site the idea being the worse case would be 1 day info could be lost. Ho hum
  13. Even worse for me Mike I appear to have lost all photos from day 1. I had started to load some in before I checked but when I did I found that all had gone. Just going back to re-check but if it is I'll give up on it all. Right proper ineptitude of the server provider.
  14. Agree with JT above but would ask that you add a stocking cover to the end to catch any unintended items that may be wanted but get caught up in the dust up. Best
  15. Thanks both for you input. I've started laying out a word doc of the info I want and if all the links work I'll delete the parts back to where I want the old topic to end and refer on to the new topic. Best
  16. What I want to do is start a new topic with some of the detail off my existing topic. Is there a way to slice the last one and a half pages of my old topic in one go? Thanks
  17. Just been scouting around for running sequences / daily routine at a TDM and found a suggestion from you to view West Shed. That's a great help to aid my planning of things to do and not just have locos coming and going. ie deliver fuel, stores, wheel setts etc. Thanks Andy.
  18. Great to read your "show time" was excellent Steve. I see you have found 3 videos of Hillport Goods. When I looked I could see some of the show but not specifically your layout but I may have been a little quick of the mark so I'll revisit the web. Just in case could you post a link for me to follow, thanks. Best
  19. This evening I managed to watch the service for Grahame. It was a very touching service with special thanks to Tim's eulogy. Regards to all.
  20. Hello your option (b) reminded me I had recently brought some. Still not used them but they look good, see photo. Mine are 7mm but ModelTECH do all scales they make and awkward fiddley job easy. I believe Intentio also make a version and there may be other manufacturers. Best
  21. If you are still looking I have most of the HM on my shelf in date order. Do you recall approximately when you read this layout build, if so let me know and I'll look up your description around that date. Scale would also help too. But as Andy P has said a quick call to HM office will also find it for you. Best
  22. ................but this has just dropped. "outspoken co-founder and CEO of Rich Energy William Storey has revealed he recently met with a number of Formula One engineers. F1 engineers think Max Verstappen should be stripped of his title and also want Michael Masi fired, it has been claimed. "
  23. Well done Ade, the Quality Control on that wagon build is superb. Best
  24. Exciting times @ Hillport goods. Don't forget to try and bribe someone to take a video of the layout working at the SEC Glasgow over the 3 show days, if you can. Phew! you're going to be busy. Good luck.
  25. Some of the "Responder" scenes were shot in Lark lane which was one of my old late 60's stomping grounds I use to live near by in Aigburth or in Scouse said Eggbuth.
